Hockey Report

Submitted by TiM on

I just got back from our hockey match again the extra-cheating curry munchers. All they did was cry and sulk and bitch. That was because we scored a goal against them in the first 10 minutes, and they were really really shitty. They're the top team and they're not used to being scored again. They eventually evened it out in the dying minutes of the game. Still, we drew with them 1 all, which is a lot better than the 6-0 thrashing we got last time we played them!

I'm just waiting for Ryan to give me a call, his ship sails in today, and I said I'd put him up here for the night. Not sure if we'll go out yet or not, but it sounds like a good plan to me :)

Totally cleaned the flat up today, it's now all nice and clean. And vaccumed. Now I'm...

Groan! (Joke)

Submitted by TiM on

There are two guys who have been lost in the desert for weeks, and they're

at death's door. As they stumble on, hoping for salvation in the form of an

oasis or something similar, they suddenly spy, through the heat haze, a tree

off in the distance.

As they get closer, they can see that the tree is draped with rasher upon

rasher of bacon. There's smoked bacon, crispy bacon, life-giving juicy

nearly-raw bacon, all sorts.

"My God, Pepe" says the first bloke. "It's a bacon tree!!! We're saved!!!"

"You're right" says Pepe, "Praise the Lord!" So Pepe goes on ahead

and runs up to the tree salivating at the prospect of food. But as he

gets to within five feet of the tree, there's the sound of machine gun

fire, and he is shot down in a hail of bullets. His friend quickly

drops down on the sand, and...

My New Vacuum Cleaner!

Submitted by TiM on

Yes!!! I have purchased one! How damned exciting are things getting now? Proving just how useless the net really is, you can click here to look at the one I brought! Yea! I haven't opened mine yet though so I don't know what colour it is! That suprise is waiting for me when I get home! I can hardly hold back the excitement!

Ok, so I'll shut up about the dumb vacuum cleaner now.

Been a busy day, lots of people, lots of phone calls. Now it's time to lug this stupid box home in the pouring rain. I still have no idea what I'm going to cook tomorrow, maybe vegemite washed down with VB? Though the Kiwis seem to think vegemite is their national icon too. Bah!

Home Time!

TV Junkie?

Submitted by TiM on

Well I've got my Sky TV now so I'm happy. The little man finally arrived yesterday and did a very professional job of the install. Not that I really cared that much, I'm just renting the place. But it is bad form to have him rip down walls and break windows while doing it. But he managed to do it without and fuss, and be nice and friendly at the same time...

So now I have millions of channels etc to watch. Doesn't mean that there's anything good to watch though! I like the animal channels, and the movie channel isn't that bad either, there was this really excellent horror movie on last night, lots of screaming and blood and stuff. I'm sure the neighbours loved it too, as I had it pumping through the stereo at about 130 decibels.

I hate it when you get songs stuck in your...

Waiting for the Sky Man

Submitted by TiM on

I'm sitting at home waiting for Mr Sky Installer dude to come along and put the litle dish on the roof. I've been up and awake since 4am this morning and I'm getting impatient with him. He said he'd be here in 20 mins though, so I suppose I should believe him.

All the stuff I had to do early this morning went really well, which is quite a suprise. The last few times I've had to come in early I've had those moments where you think "Oh fuck, have I just made a career limiting move?", but thankfully no such thoughts today. My car was even lucky enough not to get towed! Pity really...

I've just been searching on the web to try and make sure the Boags factory is ok! Does anyone know?

Well nothing much else interesting to say, it's just started raining again (Welcome to Auckland)...

Performance Review Time!

Submitted by TiM on

I had my performace review today with the boss! Scary scary stuff. I was all ready for him to hand me the pink slip and a letter with "pack ya bags" written on it, but it turns out he's actually pretty happy with my work and stuff. It's nice to get a bit of recognition every now and then from management, it makes getting up out of bed at 4am (like I'll be doing tomorrow) just that little tiny bit easier.

So I'm glad that went OK, I wasn't really expecting it to go bad or anything. I've been working lots of crazy hours of late and jumping through lots of hoops. I reckon that's why I've been crook a heap of late. I'm almost over this stupid flu thing now, lots of good food and rest has been helping I think!!

What else has been happening? My Sky Digital...

Christchurch

Submitted by TiM on

I'm back! I flew down to Christchurch on the 15th. Only problem was I was sick as a dog, after having caught a really bad strain of the flu. My only holiday since I've been here and I get sick for it... Boy was I pissed. Still I had a great time down there, Christchurch is a really nice place, much nicer than Auckland in a bunch of ways. It reminded me a lot of Hobart, it's smaller and everyone seems friendly and there isn't 5 billion cars at all hours of the day.

Thanks to all the people who sent cards and emails and stuff for my birthday! It was really cool. I did really well this year too, KA got me a carton of Cascade Premium and a bunch of chockies. KA's mum got me a really warm king size doona. I'm set!

Well I'm too tired to...

Auckland, Kittens and Sore Legs....

Submitted by KA on

To get our kitten we need a cat door and a bunch of other stuff..maybe we can just move house and get a dog:)

When we finally get the kitten/puppy...I'll give him a list of names and see which one he likes...cause Moggie aint happening!!!!:)

Two more days till Tim comes to Chch to visit me.. all the touristy things planned for him to do... haven't lost hope that he will love it and want to stay!!!

Most of you will have heard what I wanted to do for his birthday. It turns out there is no Boags in the South Island ... and only the one person in Auckland with it..so impossible to get in time...so he is settling for Cascade premium!!:) And a few other things which I can't tell you about yet...!

As for when am I visiting.. hopefully New Year's... as long as I have a...

Poor All Blacks!

Submitted by TiM on

They've had to get some nuns in to pray for them. Or something. Looks like it's going to be a pretty good game. We'd better frikking win or I'm going to look like a tool.

Got home last night to a stuffed mailbox! 3 presents from my mother. I hope everyone else is going to try and better that amount ;)

One of them I was allowed to open (it's from her Kathmandu trip) and it was the most fantastic present I've ever been given. It's called Shaun's Fecking Treking NEPAL 2001. She's taken the toy Shaun Sheep that I got her for her birthday ages ago all around Nepal and taken photos of him in all sorts of places doing all sorts of things. I'm going to see if I can scan it in so everyone can see it, it's amazing and totally fantastic... I couldn't stop laughing...

My Stupid Leg.

Submitted by TiM on

I've decided of late that I'm going to only catch the bus one way to work, and then walk home the other way. As everyone knows I'm such a slacker at getting up early that I actually have yet to walk to work. I have been walking home from work most nights though, unless it rains, so I'm pretty proud that I've actually managed to do what I said I would. It takes about an hour to walk home, and I think I made a bit of a mistake when I walked home tonight then decided to go to hockey training. Poor ol' legs weren't really cut out for THAT much exercise (My name isn't Rob remember) and so Mr Left Leg decided that he was going to pack it in and cramp up really badly. Ugh. Stupid leg.

I'm supposed to be going and doing the SPCA thing this...
