Friday is here at last...

Submitted by TiM on

Oh yea, it's finally Friday. I can't tell you how glad I am that it's arrived. It's been another week of too much work and not much sleep. Apart from Tuesday. But that doesn't count. I crawled out of bed this morning at 4am, which is starting to become a regular thing. I'm fairly sure all the early morning starts are out of the way now, they sure as hell better be before I snap and go insane. Ignore me, I'm just tired and grumpy.

Check this out. Is that just freaky or what?

KA flew down to ChristChurch today. I took her to the airport and that was pretty sad. Even though we broke up we're still really good friends and I won't get to see her anymore. Unless I fly down to freezing Christchurch that is!! I don't suppose I can complain though, I did move away from...

Leaving the Homestead.

Submitted by KA on

Well this will be the last entry from 'the old homestead' but never fear, I have access to two computers where I will be living.:)

Tim has been a very gracious host the last few days and many thanks to him for letting me stay here while I sorted out my stuff.

It's another wonderful day here, I will miss the lovely weather, but not the constant rain and mugginess. Christchurch is much more like Hobart I hear!:)

Christchurch actually has buses called 'The Big Red Buses' so maybe I will post from the bus one day!!

I've been watching the terrorism all day on TV and all I can say is hate and prejudice can never have good consequences.

One more thanks to Tim for being the most gracious baldy I have ever met.:)

Riding to work on the Big Red Bus.

Yea, doing the 'sit on the bus and write stuff into my palm pilot' trick again today. I'm still totally shocked and amazed at the stuff that happened yesterday, especially after seeing more footage of the second plane crashing into the tower at such high speed. At least I heard on the news today that they have found some survivers.

I got my ADSL (fast Internet) installed at home yesterday finally. Not only does it mean I can basically work from home, it also means I don't have to tie up my normal house phone to do it! If you ring my landline now there's a much better chance I'll answer it. Assuming I'm at home anyway.

Congratulations to You Know Who about You Know What. I'm not allowed to say anymore about that cryptic statement, so please don't ask.

Hopefully work will return to normal today, due to...

What to say?

Got woken up this morning at 4:30am by the news that everyone has heard now. No more World Trade Centre! I didn't really believe it when I was first told it, but after watching on TV I realised it was true. The person who rang me is expecting a baby any day now, so the news that he told me was the last thing I was expecting. Everyone on the bus (where i'm writing this) is talking about it, which is pretty amazing 'cause the bus is always silent in the morning. Even more amazing was the footage of the plane crashing into the 2nd tower.

Don't think today will be a day anyone forgets in a hurry. Oh yea, Happy Birthday Jeremy!!

Not much else exciting has been happening. Lots of work etc. KA is back up in Auckland to get her stuff and say hi to her friends...

Weekend Report (Holy Shite! It didn't rain!)

Can our hockey team get any better? I don't think so. We won 10-0 today, which is pretty good. I had 3 shots on goal, 2 that were just plain crap and never going to go in (note to self: Aim before firing) and 1 that was stopped right on the line in the most amazing fashion by the goalie. Prick. We even had a shot that went it, but it hit the back of the net really high and bounced out. No one realised it was actually a goal until after. Still, when you won 10-0 it's not really a big problem is it?

So I gave in to my promise not to tell the guys about last Monday morning and my frikking head tattoo. Of course they all thought it was funny as hell, and gave me lots of shit about it. Hell, they were giving me shit...

What a (fucked up) day!

Rage against what easily has to be the worst Friday in the history of Fridays! Got woken up early, got to work at 4:45am like I was supposed to. Nearly had a heart attack when the major upgrade nearly fell over in a major major way. Me and the other guy doing the upgrade had the major "uh-oh, it's all turned to total shit" jitters, but we won through with a bit of hard work and a lot of luck. Err, I mean skill.

So yea, after that it just got worse for a number of reasons. Some work related, some not. I was glad when I was able to walk out at 4:30 that's for sure! And get this! I have to be in again at 5am on Monday morning! Does anyone want a job in New Zealand doing IP stuff? It's real easy and the hours are just...

Drop Dead Tired.

Finally made it home 20 minutes ago. I really need to get another job, one where I don't have to spend all my free time at. The work we were going to do tonight couldn't even go ahead in the end because of some other systems that other people were working refusing to be upgraded. So what was going to be a small 30 minute job turned out to be a 3 hour job that we still couldn't finish.

Alas, at least my day wasn't as bad as poor old Rob Flemings. Poor Rob decided that instead of riding behind the bus on his bike, he'd keep riding once the bus had stopped. Thus smacking into Mr Bus at a high speed and hurting his arm. Hope you get better soon Rob. Prehaps you should follow these driving hints in the future?

Seeing as I get to leap up at...

Went out last night with some workmates, the Boss and a few other people for a few well earned beers at the pub. Managed to keep away from getting drawn on this time too which is a bonus. Yesterday was a really busy day, we had a network crash for about 20 minutes... Always a lot of fun to recover from. After the beers at the pub a few of us went off for a nice dinner at this little Italian place in Point Chevalier. That was really nice, finally managed to get home at nearly 11pm!

It's nice when Vendors are paying and say "order whatever you want and drink whatever you want"!

I spoke to Johnnie today and he thinks that I should get a fair bit of money back on my Australian Tax Return. All I need to do now is wait for the Australian Consulate in...

Pissing with Rain...

Submitted by TiM on

I've managed today after a lot of scrubbing and stuff last night to get rid of my stupid head drawings. I'm still smarting over it though, it's going to be an interesting Hockey Training this Thursday night that's for sure!

Auckland is doing its typical piss with rain thing today, which is what I've become used to. I mean, I spend all day inside anyway so I don't know why it shits me so much. Probably because my apartment is at the top of a big steep hill. The bus drops me off at the bottom and I have to walk up this fekking great hill and get rained on at the same time.

I've make a few small changes to this website in the last day, I'm not sure if I did it all properly and I might have broken it. If it doesn't seem to be working please...

YAHHH THE AB's!!!!

Submitted by KA on

Picture this...2 mins till the end of the rugby and some AUSTRALIAN rings you to skite and tell you how his team are the flukiest bastards on the planet!!!!!

Then his team mate rings and tells you he is passed out (not much i can do bout that when I am in Chrischurch, but nevertheless I was worried) and then Tim sends me a link with a delightful picture on it! Immature, but deserved , I think:)

Anyway as everyone has heard, Tim broke up with me on Monday, but we are doing fine as friends, he's a lovely guy who deserves to be happy.

Anyway I just had to write to defend my nation and the AB's!
