Me? Being Nasty To People? Never!

Submitted by TiM on

Hello groovers, hope you'll all well and haven't fallen in any bear traps. Or gone to see the movie "Monster" like I did last night with Sarah and a couple of her workmates. I wanted to get up and leave it was that horrible and depressing. Matt who was with us did actually get up and leave. The Sarah and Cass though didn't see why we wanted to leave, they enjoyed the movie, even though it was hard to watch in places. The movie is about a hooker who is about to kill herself, but then finds this girl to be her friend and then they fall in love. But Ms Hooker gets attacked one night while hooking and kills the man who attacked her. Rinse, repeat to morbid ending. There is nothing happy about this movie, it's very dark deep and complex. It wouldn't be fair to say I hated it because I didn't, it just made me so uncomfortable I wanted to leave. Go and see it at your peril!

I was talking to Sarah last night about her job and she's been telling me how she rings people up to ask them questions, how some of those people are really nice, friendly and helpful and how some are nasty and uninterested in her questions. This got me thinking... What am *I* like when random people ring me up asking questions about things they don't specifically understand, but want help with. And I realised I'm probably a bit of a bastard! With this rather shocking revelation I have decided to be a lot nicer to people, starting today. In fact I've already helped out a few people were normally I'd probably not do it, or gone that extra bit of distance to make sure someone is happy.

It's werid though, I always thought I was nice to people about these sorts of things, until I talked to Sarah and the kind of reactions she gets from people. I realised some of those reactions were like me! Not good.

In more amusing news, it was almost impossible to get to sleep last night because my flatmates like to scream and yell and basically tear the house down while they shag. I mean, whatever floats your boat but do you have to wail like a banshee at 11:30 at night? I think not. Sometimes I wonder if they're waiting for us to start up the applause afterwards...

I didn't bother with any April Fools jokes this year, I pretty much forgot about it until the night before. Plus I don't think I can really top last years effort. We did see one guy walking to work, looking like he'd forgotten to put his pants on, plus I heard that the radio got people to do some silly test with their toilet and to ring up the water board about the result. The waterboard threatened to sue though apartently (I heard this from a cow-orker so it's maybe not true)

Hope you all have a good weekend.

banshee

\Ban"shee\, Banshie \Ban"shie\, n. [Gael. bean-shith fairy; Gael. & Ir. bean woman + Gael. sith fairy.] A supernatural being supposed by the Irish and Scotch peasantry to warn a family of the speedy death of one of its members, by wailing or singing in a mournful voice under the windows of the house
