I have to be at work nice and early this morning (4:30am or so) to do some pretty major work, just upgrading one device. It's a pretty important one though so I don't want to do it from home in case it reboots and doesn't come back to life. That always happens to me.
I'd set my alarm for 4am, but then I woke up at 2:30am and I really didn't feel tired (desite the fact I'd only had 3.5 hours sleep) so I'm awake and sitting in the lounge with the heater going and my sexy-as-hell beanie on. I rule.
Read on to find out how the inspection of our maybe-new-house went! I don't know why I say "Read On" because I know you're all just hanging on every word I say anyway. I rule. Oh, I already said that.
John and Gary came to pick me up from work last night (I'd walked to work and I had to bring home a huge box) and we went straight from the TelstraClear building to investiage the new house that John had found while seaching TradeMe. I'd post the link again to the photos but they all appear to have been taken offline, but suffice to say it looked really good online!
When we got there it didn't look much different, it's a really really nice primo house, tucked away down a long driveway, very quiet and sheltered. We all piled in to have a look.
Inside was just as nice, all polished floors. We were a bit dissapointed that the bedrooms weren't as big as we'd hoped, but the house is still much better than the one we have here at Totaravale. Also it's got a number of nice decks and 2 bathrooms, what more could you want?
The only drawbacks as I see them are:
- The Landlord lives right next door. We don't have lots of wild parties or anything, but still, I just feel a bit uneasy about the landlord being right there. He seems like an OK guy though.
- We haven't seen the contract he wants us to sign, so hopefully it doesn't have any funky clauses in it.
- He wants us to move in this weekend. I guess he doesn't fancy paying his loan off himself so wants tennants. Understandable, but means we have to rush to decide.
Apart from those minor quibbles, it looks like this could be our new home! Assuming that someone else hasn't already signed on the dotted line with him but he seems pretty confident that he'd let us take it.
That's all.... Time to listen to more music and drink more coffee.
