What's this? An update a day after the last one? Some regularity? Scary huh?
Today's my day off, to make up for working all Sunday night. Monday was to make up for all Saturday night. I have no weekend work at all this weekend, thank fek. I've had enough of that crap.
Last night we went out to Albany to say goodbye to one of our workmates, Matt. Not the Matt I work with on a day to day basis, this is a different Matt. It was his going away party, and HE put on all the good stuff!! Huge hunks of dead cow, very tasty. More beer than we could drink (alas, how we tried) and all round a pretty good time. I got home at 8pm and I was pretty, well, happy. Thanks Matt!
I rang around today looking for quotes to move to Wellington. $1,200 to move all my stuff. Then I had a great idea (cause I'm a smart bastard) of just storing most of my stuff (books, bookshelf, stereo, fridge etc) and only moving the stuff I can't live without (Futon, CDs, computers, inflatable sheep) down there. Store per month is about $130 which is very resonable. I don't think I'd even need that much space. So I've told the BossMan today that I'll do it. I just need to hear the offical word from him and I'll let my landlord know, plus ring my bank so they'll give me some money. My savings account I can't withdraw from without giving 2 weeks notice. It's the only way I can save. Hopefully I'll be able to get down to Wellington for less than a thousand dollars.
I went to find out about my license today. Yes! Finally! I have the correct forms to fill out, and a brand new copy of the Road Code which I'll read over the next couple of weeks. Then I can just walk in on any day (all this bullshit about having to book turns out is crap) and sit the test. Easy as. I can't wait, I've really got into the "must get drivers license" mood the last week. Don't know why.
