Fek I love Saturday mornings! It's so nice to get up and mope around drinking big mugs of Earl Grey Tea, listening to music loud and sitting in the sun. Cause for once on the weekend there is sun. The weather has been so shit for the last 2 weeks. Pretty much raining all the time, esp when I need to catch a bus or something.
Last night was SO MUCH FUN!! I got a call from Bob to come over to the Ericsson building where he works. They'd turned the display area (where they show all the customers their funky products during the day) into a darts area/pub. I sat there for ages discussing stuff with all these people I'd never met before. Being Tasmanian, Stupid Kiwis, My upcoming trip to Brazil (of course!) and heaps of other things. Everytime it got around to shop talking someone would roll their eyes and groan, which was good. I hate talking about work stuff when you're out having fun.
After we closed the bar down (it ran out of beer and we were getting hungry) we went into town and got some food, then walked up to the Kings Arms. It was wicked! There will all these punks with the funkiest haircuts I've seen, and lots of excellent music! I was up the front dancing like a fiend! Which is not usually me... The only problem was my glasses which kept wanting to fly off. Of course I'm all sore from all the dancing. The bands were so good though, it was a great night. I ran off at 11:40 to catch my bus, running all the way from the very top of Queen St down to the bottom to get my bus. And of course once I got there I realised I could have just walked about 100 metres from the Kings Arms to a stop that the bus was going to travel past anyway. Oh well! Nothing like a bit of midnight exercise.
Made it home without incident, except I fell asleep on the bus! Luckily this girl I'd been talking to on the bus shook me away and said "Isn't this your stop?" Thanks! I dunno where I'd have ended up otherwise!
Tonight is upgrade all the routers/switchs/magical boxes in our network night. Means I get to stay up really late and stress the whole time. I love my job!! I'm actually looking forward to tonight though. I'm doing a bunch of stuff that I've never done before, and if I fuck it up bad bad things happen. That kinda makes it fun though, I work best when I'm under lots of pressure.
No more news on the toilet floor thingy. Toilet still wobbles lots. Still worried about falling in oneday.
Time to present the "Tim's Diary" first ever things you really needed to know article. Need more proof that kiwis can be really stupid?
Must be time to have a shower, get dressed and go do stuff! Even though it now looks like it's gonna rain again. Stupid Auckland Weather!!
Tim
