Well as I said in my last post, I had the best time in Australia. Thanks to all my family and friends who gave me a place to stay at various times while I was there, it was most appreciated.
I picked up my new Camera on the way out of Auckland! Woohoo. The first thing I did was unwrap it out of all the boxes and set it up ready for use.
Once I'd finally arrived in Hobart after the long crappy flight from Auckland -> Melbourne -> Hobart was go into town and get my Australian Drivers License renewed. It expired in October, and I was only able to apply for a 1 year Aussie license if I wasn't in the country. So I rocked up and got my photo taken, handed over the money and now have a nice shiny new drivers license. After that me and Rob ran around town for a couple of hours doing that very last minute Christmas shopping.
I had a good xmas day at Dad's place with everyone, even though I fell asleep for most of it. I'd stayed up late the night before chatting with Rob and friends at Rob's place, and I was buggered from the flight over. I don't think I missed a lot though, just lots of chatter and that. Xmas lunch was pretty damn tasty too. Wish I could cook like that.
I took so many photos while I was in Aussie! 1/2 of them are probably drunk people staring stupidy at the camera. I'll put the best of the bunch up on the website just as soon as I get all 8 rolls of film back from the Photo house!
I went up to Binalong bag for 3 nights too, that was fantastic. The weather was excellent, all I did most of the time there was sit around in the wonderful sun and drink beer. It really was a pretty difficult time. Each morning we'd get up and go into the Binalong bay store and order 6 hamburgers. At 9am. The tended to get a little bit shitty with us, but they always made them and they were always damn tasty. Just the way to start the day, or something.
I sold my car! Yes it is no longer. Julian has been looking after it for the past year, so it seemed only fair to sell it to him. I sold it hell cheap, but at least I don't have to worry about it blowing up etc etc. Not that I think it'll do that, it was in pretty good condition, apart from a little bit of a dent that somehow appeared in the passenger door. Hmmm lets not talk about that.
Mums wedding was a wonderful occasion. It's just a shame that it rained for it, but it just helped to make the wedding a little bit more fun! There were 6 dogs running around, lots of people, and the wedding car was a mini moke. We even tied a whole heap of beer cans to the back so that as it drove away they all make a large racket. All captured on film!
The wedding reception turned into the New Years Eve celebrations. Also a really good occasion!
It was so good to see all my family and friends again! I miss them all already! I just wish I'd had more time, I still didn't get to see some people (sorry Travers! Next time, I promise.) and I only got to see others once instead of a few times. But overall it was a fabbo time. You're all welcome to come over here any time you'd like to!
I brought myself a portable CD player yesterday. Finally. Much as I love my MD player it can be a pain to copy stuff from CD's all the time onto MD. The MD still rocks for other things though.
I walked in the door yesterday and thoughtfully Bianca got me a beer. That's a good flatmate! We went out last night to the Voodoo Lounge, a cool little club that played lots of pretty good music. I have spent most of the day on the couch outside sleeping, cause I didn't get home till 4am.
What else? Thinking about buying myself some property in Australia and renting it out. That's getting a bit old and mature. I think I'm losing it. I'm going to buy myself a nice car too soonish. The sooner the Lancer well-it-accidently-caught-on-fire-officer the better.
Time to clean the flat up!
