Vote 1 Chickens!

Submitted by TiM on

I had a bit of a panic yesterday when I read the front page of the New Zealand Herald and realised that I probably had to vote too (I am a Australian Citizen after all.)
A quick phone call the the Australian Electoral Office told me that yes, I did have to vote or I'd get myself a nasty fine.

So this morning I walked downtown to the Australian Consulate to cast my vote. Finally for once it is a nice day, lots of sun and not too many clouds. It might even go the whole day without raining which'll be nice. I think I'm all sunburnt already.

When I got to the consulate there were about 50 other Aussies there too all lined up to vote. Took me a little while to get a paper and all that bollocks. I looked at the form and I couldn't see my favourite party, the Chickens Party, so I had to draw that box on so I could vote for them. That's still a legal vote, isn't it? ;)

Anyway, enough of this sitting inside on such a nice day, I might give Greg and Kim (ex flatmates from Eden Park) a call and see if they want to go up to De Post (the best pub in Auckland) for a few tasty Belgian beers.

(PS: I think this story has too many brackets in it)
