Bottled another batch of Tim's World Famous ginger beer on Sunday morning. And Saturday I bottled Number 7, a (I hope) tasty Indian Pale Ale that I made a couple of weeks ago. I realised that I fluffed up the versioning of the beers the other day, because the lager is still lagering. So now the bottle cap doesn't reflect which brew it was! This is not a huge problem, just a silly one. I still know which is which.
I spent a chunk of the afternoon on the back deck, scrubbing it with a broom and cleaning all the moss, dirt and other bits of crap out from between the planks. Finally after a couple of hours it's not looking too bad, though I'll be interested to see how it looks at the end of today (if it doesn't rain). Next weekend I'll get out there with some deck stain/oil stuff and make it look nice and uber. That's the plan anyway. I was just going to borrow John from next door's waterblaster but the girl at the hardware store said not to do that that, so I'm glad I got that bit of advice now instead of after I'd done it.
Spoke to Dad yesterday for Fathers Dad. He sounds good, a bit crook after getting sick on the plane returning. Sounds like he had a great holiday though. We need a holiday.
We bought a new oven on Saturday! We had a bit of a look around a few of the usual places, but none of them had a decent one. Then we walked into Kitchen Things and not only did they have the perfect oven, it was on sale! So we've got a nice new free-standing gas cooktop coming in the next week. It has sexy LCD display (a must) and some other bits for cooking on. But I'm mostly excited about the LCD display.
Mostly a pretty quiet weekend otherwise.
