Uh oh, things are bad! I just missed my tube because I was busy typing on my Blackberry. Thankfully they come about every two minutes, but duh!
I made it out to my customer meeting yesterday on time, I had to wait ages at Richmond and then once the train arrived it sat in the station for 15 minutes doing nothing. So I was 20 minutes late getting to Reading, but I'd factored in enough buffer time so I wasn't late.
An interesting thing I've noticed here at the supermarket to do the little dividers that are provided at the checkouts. People here use them religiously, I can't help but laugh sometimes. Even when I was talking to a fellow checkoutee about it and she was laughing and agreeing with me, as soon as a little divider was free she grabbed it and put it down. Then looked at me with a shrug as if to say “I know, but I’m being forced!” I could suggest that it’s a British thing, but that would be wrong because where we live we’re all imports, there’s no British people in a 10km radius of Acton!
I don't get it though, it's not like I'm accidentally going to end up buying someone else's trolley load of stuff. It seems a clear gap of ~10cm isn't enough for most people though.
My £1 umbrella couldn’t hold up to the wind and rain this morning. Firstly the wind blew it inside out about 5 times, then a prong got really loose and started sticking out, making the umbrella loose and start flapping like mad in the wind. Still it cost me a pound and has saved me from many a downpour, so I guess I’ve got my money’s worth from it. I'm sure I can get a few more rainshowers out of it before it explodes.
Time to get to work, things are very busy here today.
Tim
I use the divider. It helps
I use the divider. It helps everyone. So many times stuff gets scanned that isn't yours because of the absence of the divider. Get with the program. I've always used the divider. You're the outcast here.
