Woke up this morning with my sore throat even more clicky and weird than it was last night. Uh-oh, I'm coming down with a cold I think. All day today one of my nostrils has been running. But not the other one, which is a little odd. No doubt I have malaria or something similar, though actually I think we've done a really good job of keeping the biting nasties away from us. I check all the mozzie screens each night, put a mozzie coil outside the front door and spray the room with flyspray just before we got to sleep. I've had a couple of bites, as has Sarah, but nothing like some of the people I've seen walking around here who are covered in bites and marks.
We've done bugger all today, mostly on account of me feeling a bit off. I took the scooter back and managed to get the hire place to give me a lift back to our bunglows, bugger walking the 30 minutes back in the heat. We've just come to this Internet cafe to try and make a few Skype calls, but most of the Internet cafe's on this Island are terrible, very slow and clunky. There's a really good one we've found, but it's a 30 minute walk without the scooter and we're just not that keen.
Now that the Full Moon party is over for another month, it seems everyone has pretty much packed up and gone home. Yesterday and the day before Sairee Beach has been packed with people, today it seems very dead and quiet. Maybe everyone come, had a long weekend and had to get back to work by tomorrow? Or maybe they all got really boozed last night and are hungover today, who knows. I like it with there's less tourists around though, otherwise it almost seems like we're back home. Well apart from the heat, lack of clean running water and toilet we have to flush by tipping water from a bucket.
Ahh, travelling. It's so much fun! I wish I'd done it sooner!
