Back To The Dentist Tomorrow

Submitted by TiM on

We've just finished watching "Dragon's Den" again. It's such a interesting TV show, it's a "real life" type show but its not done terribly like most of them are. I always feel sorry for the people on the show pitching websites, they're all universally terrible. And while this product seems like a good idea, the guy's sales pitch was to get angry at the investors!

Going back to the dental surgeon tomorrow, I went to the Dr today about a sore on my tongue and while I was there I got her to look at my sore spot, she said it's probably infected and the surgeon really needs to check it out. I guess one sore bit out of four's not that bad, I can eat normal food again on the other side of my mouth.

I'm going down to Napier next week to do some work (just internal Prophecy stuff) which'll make a nice break from sitting at home, slowly going crazy. Every time that it seems there's some work lined up for me it falls through, it's so annoying. We've just hired another person down in Wellington though so it seems that business is booming.

When Sarah finished her Spanish course last night I went into town to meet her and we had a nice dinner at Tenuki's Cave. It's this little bar underneath a normal restaurant, instead of serving a large meal it serves lots of little dishes, cheaply. So you can order a meat on a skewer, roasted garlics on a skewer (my favourite though it makes you pong!) etc. It's a great little place to eat.

Once we left I had to queue up in a massive queue (the movies had just got out) and when it was my turn to pay at the parking machine, I thought I'd broken the machine. It took my ticket and my credit card and prompt refused to do anything else. I had to turn around to the massive crowd and say "Please don't lynch me, but I think I broke it!" But some wise spark suggested pressing the help button and the little man in the speaker managed to fix it. That was a close one, nearly beaten to death by 30 angry people.

I saw this show once when overcome by insomnia! For some reason it has yet to make it to prime time tv here! I loved it! One guy was trying to market a new type of skateboard and he had all the moves but no sales skills. However he did beat out the advertising exec who tried to sell them a pyramid sales scheme thingo!!!

Hope the sore bits heal soon

I think the crazy product ideas are my favourite, or the people who get very aggressive when asked legit questions (Such as "How many have you sold so far?")

I think it's pretty popular here, so it'll probably make it to prime time over there soon enough. It's made by the BBC, so it's probably something that'll run on the ABC, before commerical TV realises people like it!
