Meeting my family and Graduation.

Submitted by KA on

Hey, me again. Tim said I needed to write bout graduation. :)

Firstly Tim met my family. As expected my mother loved him, even bought him a frypan..lol bet it's the first time he's been given a frypan by someone he has only met once!!!!!

Even the Dad type guy and my pain in the ass brother liked him..scary!! to those who are worried he is coming to christchurch for his birthday and we have lots planned for him!:)

And on to graduation...I...a W (for Whiteside) had to sit through 2 hours of speeches and stuff before I got to be capped but it was great to have my family (all the way from Christchurch) and Tim cheering me on. Officially let loose on the the children of New Zealand as of today:)

Anyway I'm off to Christchurch for a month..so look after my Tim and make sure he's happy...

Ouch

I got hit by a car today. How funky is that? I was running down this morning to catch the bus and this silly asian lady drove out of her driveway at breakneck speed. And she almost did break my neck! I managed to roll over the bonnet instead. No damage.

She was freaking out but I just said I'm fine and walked off. I bet she won't fly out of her driveway anymore.

Crash, Bang, New Clothes!

Submitted by TiM on

Interesting start to the day today, sitting on the bus on the way to work I saw a pretty amazing crash. Stupid crazy car driver decided to pull out in front of mini truck thingy coming along the main road. The smash was so loud everyone on the bus heard it. Not much we could do about it though...

I think the nasty smell that has been floating around the apartment for the last few weeks will finally be gone after today. The plumber came around to find the source of a leak that the downstairs neighbours have been getting for the last month. Turns out the hot water cylinder had a problem with it where it was leaking water all over the place. After knocking a few choice holes in the wall all over the place the problem is now fixed. Much to my landlord's annoyance, he now has...

Some more webcam pictures...

Submitted by TiM on

I took the webcam home over the weekend to get a few snaps of my (not so new anymore) apartment. If you click here you can see the results. The webcam isn't the most high quality camera in the world, so some of the pics are a bit blury/crappy, but you get the idea.

Hockey yesterday afternoon was fantastic. We won the game with only 9 players. We scored the first 3 goals, they scored the next 4, then we scored 2 to win it in the last 10 minutes. Pretty amazing stuff. I even managed to score a goal myself which made me pretty happy. I was totally knackered after the match though, only 9 players means no subs!

Later that night we all went out to a curry night for one of the guys who's leaving. He's scored himself a job over in Melbourne, so curry for all...

Friday Funny Stuff

Submitted by TiM on

I've been sent a few funny things today, so I'll post them here. The first is little movie cartoon about dating women. Click here to download it. It's a large file, so it'll take a little while to download. It's worth it though, trust me!

Thanks to my Auntie Leanne for sending me this:

BEER MATHEMATICS

This is pretty neat how it works out.

This is amazing beer math!!!!!!!

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!

It only takes about a minute.......

Work this out as you read.

Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!

This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun (& it's about beer).

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have a beer (try for more than once but less than 10, girls can substitute their favourite drink)

Rage Against Car Registration.

Submitted by TiM on

I took my car down to garage today to get a Warrant of Fitness. In NZ you've got to get your car checked out every 6 months by a garage to make sure it's legal and not going to lose all it's wheels when you change gears. Mine didn't pass (big surprise) but it's only got 1 small fault (split front boot) which isn't going to be that expensive to fix. I was surprised it passed (once that gets fixed) so easily, I expected them just to send it off to the junk yard and issue me with a letter saying it was for the best. Perhaps I'm too harsh on my car?

What else has been happening? It's been raining and raining so much it's not funny. Hockey training last night was freezing and wet. Our team is actually getting pretty good, even I'm getting better than I was...

Big Long Update

Submitted by TiM on

We're sitting at home on this crappy Auckland Sunday. As usual it's raining and freezing cold. It doesn't help that we're both now sick. I'm still getting over this evil cough and poor KA has caught the flu that everyone seems to be getting! We've got loads of various pills now, so hopefully we'll both be better soon!

I was down in Wellington on Friday for Phill's going away party. We also had a big meeting during to day to make some major decisions about the future of our network. It's a good thing we had the meeting, at least everyone is on the same level now etc. After the meeting we went out for a few drinks at the Paris Cafe which is on the bottom floor of the Wellington office. We presented Phill with his card and a book of NZ photos to take back to Hobart. Me...

Cold drinks and poor old Tim.

Submitted by KA on

Tim finally has a fridge and washing machine that works..!!!!! YAAAHHHH! Cold beer for him..and proper food for me!:)

Tim has what the doc thinks is a viral infection, but don't worry he's been having Lemsip, hot drinks and he is tucked up in bed atm. Unfortunately might have to miss his trip to Welly, though he says he's still going but not drinking:( Poor Tim...I'm doing my best to look after him though!

Stuck at work.

Submitted by TiM on

I'm stuck at work again. I could moan about it on here lots but there's not much point doing that. The Fridge and Washing Machine are arriving tomorrow. Yaaa!! Finally I will be able to have cold beer again, instead of beer that's either warm or frozen. Neither of which I really like much....

The webcam won't be working for the next few days. I've taken it offline to take it home and use it there for a while. Seeing as how I lost my good camera. Swear bitch complain moan gripe etc. Not that anything really exciting ever happens on the webcam anyway...

Oh look, another power outage. Far out. *Sigh*

I'm going home.

Time to leave Evil Fridge

Submitted by TiM on

I've bitten the bullet and decided to hire a fridge and a washing machine. It's about time I think to have some clean clothes and have some food that's cold, not frozen solid. I'll take the old fridge back and try to get my money back for it. I'm sure Mr Salesman won't be too keen on it, but I've got a receipt that says he'll take it back within 3 months, so I'll go see how binding that really is!

We went to the Auckland Zoo yesterday to have a look around and also check out the new Lion cubs that were born a few weeks ago. They were really putting on a show for everyone (billions of people all with 10 kids each it seemed) fighing with each other and hassling their mother and stuff. There were all sorts of other cool critters, though when we went through...
