The final pool inspection was yesterday morning. I had all the documents ready, I was expecting a 20 minute grilling and questions and all that sort of stuff (not that I would have known the answer to many questions) but instead he was happy to be left alone and wander around outside before leaving 5 minutes later. Told me everything was OK and I just needed to fill out a form 6 online. So I filled out a form 6 and then yesterday afternoon I got the email with our code of compliance!
Good thing he wasn't here a day earlier when the kids were letting themselves into the pool by putting a chair up near the gate and getting in that way. I've had the pool heater on and given the weather hasn't been freezing (just wet) it got up to about 22c which the kids seem more than happy with. They got in on Saturday after swimming lessons, and then in again twice on Monday (public holidays to celebrate the fact the Queen died). It was funny on Saturday, we got home after swimming and Beth and Theo wanted to go and jump in one of the many puddles of water still out in the garden after all the rain we've had recently. I said yes of course so off they went. I came out 10 minutes later to do something and I said to them "You know you have a perfectly good pool out the back, right?" and they said "Wait are we allowed to go in won't it be cold?" and I said yes of course you can go in and it shouldn't be that cold seeing as the heatpump goes on every night for 3 hours.
Anyway they've had a great couple of swims, so that's good.
Saturday afternoon/evening was the AFL Grand final. I went and bought myself a box of beers and strapped myself in to watch. It's a shame it was so one sided, the Cats thumped the Sydney Swans, the final score was SYDNEY 52, GEELONG 133. Right from the get go we kicked a couple of goals and just never let up, the Swans never had a chance which was a bit of a shame really. I'd haved loved a game where you never quite knew who was going to take it, but alas. Anyway it was good fun to watch.
Sunday we went to the Farmer's market. It was indoors which it hasn't been (at least when we've gone) for AGES. We had a good look around, got some food, Beth got her face painted. Sadly the paint made her face really itchy and unfortable so she took it off once she got home. Not before she had a little upchuck though (controlled, thankfully!), we've decided that never again are they allowed to buy the large (nearly 1L) juice at the market. Even Theo was having a bit of a groan but he didn't hurp up his juice.
Sunday afternoon I went to hang out with Jordan, I took Biscuit over and Biscuit and Max (Jordan's dog) played for about 2 hours straight which was great. We'll have to get them to have a regular playdate, they both enjoyed it and were knackered afterwards.
Sunday night we went around to Holly and Adrian's for dinner with Peter and Mary, fresh back from their big overseas trip. Had a pot luck dinner which was super tasty. A great evening and the kids even stayed at H&A for the night so we got to sleep in and go for breakfast on the Monday. Rest of Monday we didn't really do too much, I finally mowed some lawns while it wasn't pissing with rain, Sarah went for a swim, the kids got in the pool a couple of times.
Now I'd better go and try and get them out of bed, it's been hard work since daylight savings was on the weekend and it's really messed up their sleeping rhythem.
Oh yes, the Recorder that Theo bought home for the long weekend so we could hear Hot Cross Buns 1,000 times had to go back to school yesterday. What a shame.
