ANZAC Day

Submitted by TiM on

We had a nice quiet day on ANZAC Day.  On Tuesday night Beth has expressed a desire to go to ANZAC Day, even though she didn't really know what she was asking.  But we rang Peter and Mary who were going and they said yes, they'd take Beth with them to the 9am service.  Neither Sarah nor myself felt like getting up at 5am for the dawn service and I'm not sure Beth would have either (Sorry, ANZACs)

Wednesday morning I got up and made us all pancakes, then got Beth all dressed and ready and shipped her off when Grandma and Grandad arrived.  Theo and I got all dressed up and went for a nice walk around Jervoistown to look at the sheep and feed the horse and just generally have fun.  Still trying to teach him a bit more about road safety because he seems to just have to gravitate towards walking on the road.  Oh yes before our walk we also had a few turns on Theo's Motorbike, which he loves and is getting very good at.  As soon as he can do a 3 point turn by himself I  won't even have to help anymore, I'll be able to just block off the driveway and he can then do it all himself.

Once we finished our walk we came home and had a fluffy and a coffee on the back steps in the lovely morning Sun.  Then Theo and I played Legos for a bit in the lounge, before I left him to it for a while as I tided up the house and got the leaf blower out to clean up the Garage and around outside.

Beth arrived about 11:30 with tales about how long the service had been and she had to sit down because it was long etc.  But Grandma and Grandad said she did a great job.  So that was nice, thanks for taking her Peter and Mary.

The rest of the day was spent just cleaning up, watching some TV, playing outside and having the odd grizzle about whatever it is a 2 and 4yo need to grizzle about (pretty much everything)

Both of them have colds/flus at the moment so have a nasty cough.  Sarah's still getting over her dodgy tummy too, she's had it for about a week now.  I'm going to the Dr's on Saturday to get the Flu shot, usually I wouldn't bother but work is offering to reimburse anyone who gets it, so I might as well.  Gotta try and stay alive this Winter, I can't believe how cold etc it's getting already, good thing Bethy and I stacked all that wood a couple of months ago!

Great effort Beth....Granny is very proud of you.

I hope you don't go too fast on your motorbike Theo....Uncle Jeremy would be impressed.

Love from Granny
