Hello from a rainy Sunday morning. We were going to go to the market today, but it's so wet and miserable and everyone slept in a bit too long because of daylight savings time. Beth's in bed asleep now (well, I hope she is) and Theo's sitting in his highchair having a bit of a micro grizzle I guess because I'm on the couch typing this instead of helping him to eat his lunch of a chicken leg (chopped up, people, I'm not mean). He woke up from his sleep after only 45 minutes, I'm pretty sure because the civil defense sirens were going off. Those things sound so spooky, even Beth says "Daddy, I don't like that sound". They do have a real air of horror to them.
Phew ok, update number two. Beth's definitely asleep, I know this because I have just been out doing some whippersnippering and she didn't make a noise on her monitor. Theo is crawling around the lounge with me talking in his little Theo baby language that only he understands. Though having said that his words are getting a lot better now, lots of Ta, Hello, Mummy, Daddy and every now and then he'll say some other, totally unexpected word that we all go "Huh? Say that again, Theo!" But he never repeats it.
I took them both to the playground yesterday and Theo went down the slide himself a number of times. He'd crawl through the tunnel, over the step and basically throw himself down the slide. It was pretty cute, he loved it, he did it about 10 times before we went. He gets really crabby when he doesn't get what he wants (more slides), he'll scream and throw a little baby tanty. Same thing when he's getting taken out of the bath and he doesn't want to finish, or he hasn't got the toy he wants. Otherwise he's a happy little man most of the time.
What else? I didn't do much running for my Fitbit points this week, it's been raining too much. I went on Monday and I did nearly 20k steps yesterday, that's just because of all the weeding and walking children and that sort of stuff. I'll hopefully get to go a bit more this week but the weather looks like it's going to be another pretty sad and miserable week, damnit. Got a nice little update for my Fitbit during the week, new watch faces and now it reminds me to move every hour if I haven't walked at least 250 steps. That's a pretty neat little feature, the "get off your lazy butt" feature. Wonder how it'll work practically though.
Anyway, I should go and play with Theo instead of just watching him destroy the monitor for his baby monitor.
Tim
