Theo's Birthday

Submitted by TiM on

It was Theo's Birthday party the Saturday morning after I got back from Australia. Sarah had already been super busy during the week getting the house lovely and tidy, organizing all the bits and pieces for the kids. Cakes, boucy castles, invites, food etc.
Everyone arrived on Saturday morning, Bouncy Castle included. Theo got lots of lovely presents from everyone, especially lots of Thomas the Tank Engine things. Which is good thing because of course Theo loves Thomas! The bouncy castle was also a huge hit, though it took Theo a very long time before I managed to convience him that he should have a proper go on it. Once he finally worked up the courage to have a bounce on it, far out did he love it. He loved it so much, he didn't really want to get off it once he realised what it consisted of.
We had the birthday cake about 11am and by 12pm pretty much everyone headed off, it all worked out very well! The children were all well behaved, no one hurt themselves too badly on the bouncy castle or anywhere else.
Later that day when I was at the supermarket with Beth and Theo, Theo suddenly looked at me with a sad face and said "Bouncy Castle, gone!". So he was missing it!

Since then, we've all been very sick for a few days, children included. Theo fell over last Thursday at kindy and bashed his head really badly. Then I took him to the Dr's again this Monday night just gone because when Sarah picked him up from Daycare he was just so, so sad. When I got him he was looking at the ground, just wanting to cuddle and not really move. Sarah rang healthline and while she was talking to them I went and changed Theo because he'd done a giant poo. After that he was totally different, happy and active and his usual self. I still took him into A&E though because he didn't seem right. The diagnosed him with an ear infection, which would explain why he tripped over at kindy and why he's been a bit funny and offbalance for a few days. He's on antibiotics now and seems to be doing much better.
Sarah's in Auckland for a few days, so it's just me and the kidlets. They're doing great, though Beth was up quite a bit last night with a nasty cough, I feel for her because now I have the same damn cough too. Considering it wasn't even two weeks ago I was crook, this is very annoying. Still could be worse.
What else? We've had heaps of rain, the grass has been struggling to cope. I don't know how Bo manages to mow the lawn but he does.
There's no doubt heaps more - but that's enough to catch up to now and I'll try and keep more up to date diary. I'll try.

Tim
