What a "crap" day.

Submitted by TiM on

We got a phone call about lunch time saying there had been a bit of flooding near one of our major server rooms, and would it be possible for us to go and have a look at what was happening? We said sure and went down to have a look. We didn't need to even get close to figure out what sort of pipe had burst and caused the leak. I nearly threw up and Tony wasn't looking too well either. We turned around, went back up stairs, rang up and said "Yup, it's all turned to shit". So some poor sap gets to clean that up. Ugh, and I moan about networking being a dump of a job.

Ok enough crap crap jokes. Ooops.

Apart from that it's just been a generally sucky day that I wish had never happened. Looks like TelstraSaturn might be buying Clear Communictions. Clear are only the 2nd biggest Comms company in New Zealand. Trying to integrate them into our network would certainly be fun. But the best news of all is that we are moving out to Penrose, despite the total stupidity of that decision. All our gear is here in Queen St. The gear that we need access to pretty much every day. And we're moving a $30 each way taxi fare away from it all. If you can figure out how that makes sense please let me know.

When are we moving I hear you ask. This weekend. When did we get told? Today! Thanks for the warning...

SPCA yesterday was fun. Apart from when I accidently put a dog back in the wrong pen. I put this big loud excited dog back in the wrong cage, the cage that had a mother and her pups in it up the back (I couldn't seem them up the back lying down, so I thought that cage was empty)

It wasn't till the mother dog starting growling and the vet nurse started going off her nut that I realised my mistake. I managed to get the male dog out of there before the mother dog attacked him though, thank god. Near disaster averted.

I've had enough of today.

Tim
