There is something just so fun about coming into work at 4:30am in the morning. We had to make some major changes to the network this morning, the kind of changes that cause the whole network to basically go off the air. And, as usual, things went horribly horribly wrong. A bit of quick thinking here and there, combined with a large hammer, and things are once again working smoothly.
It's Friday today, woohoo. I don't often write my webpage at 5:55am in the morning, but hey, today is an exception. It's early and now that the major panic is over I'm "relaxing" and drinking some coffee. Whoever invented Mr Coffee needs a medal.
I've been putting it off and putting it off, but I am, finally, going to buy a bike today. I've got SPCA tomorrow and I really don't fancy the 45 minute walk from the train station. So today at lunchtime I'm going to jump in a cab and go up to the bike shop. I'm going to try and find a nice light (cheap!) BMX. I suppose cheap + light is wishful thinking, but we'll see.
I saw the nicest MR2 (Photo of an MR2) last Saturday while I was out looking for a new place to live. Obviously that photo wasn't the one I was looking at. The one I saw was black, all leather interior and a dual turbo. Very very nice, and very far-ken expensive ($16k)
I still want one though. I've given up on the Mini idea!!
I've started packing up all my stuff ready for my move next weekend. I was starting to stress about how I was actually going to get all my stuffed moved from one place to the other, but Nat's boyfriend Adam has offered to help me move it all in his car. Thanks Adam!! Not that I've got that much stuff anyway. Stinky Matress (remember it?) is still downstairs in the storage cupboard. I'm really scared to go down there and open the cupboard up. Prehaps I can just leave and never see it again? I don't think it's fair on the girls though, they might oneday go down to get something out of the cupboard, and stinky matress will rise up and attack. The Salvation Army never came to collect it (maybe they read my webpage?) so I don't know what to do with it. Prehaps the city mission will take it off my hands. Ugh.
Well, that's enough early morning ranting. It's time to go and drink some more tasty coffee and start looking like I'm actually doing some work.
