I'm allowed out today, it's the official freedom day. Though I BROKE THE LAW yesterday by going out at lunch to talk the dog for a walk and getting myself a pie and a chocolate milk for Lunch. Sarah had taken the kids out to do a bit of shopping, Theo desperately wanted to spend his Birthday money. Plus they went to Arataki Honey and made some candles. Sarah thought it would fill up 15 minutes of time making the candles, it filled up about 32 second apparently. Oh well they came home with some cool candles.
We then took the kids out to the see "Rise of Gru" which has to be the worst movie I've ever had to sit through. The plot was terrible. I mean I know it's a kids movie but most of them are usually pretty good, but this was garbage. I don't know how it's got 70% on Rotton Tomatos. I tried to sleep through it to ease the pain but Beth kept poking me and going "Daddy, are you asleep?? Wake up!". Ugh. Once that nightmare was over we went out for dinner, we were an hour early to the place we went to, the Kork n Barrel. They stil seated us though. The kids meals come out quickly, but once that was over with Theo started moaning about how sore his legs were, so we had to make him swallow a Panadol Tablet. Which finally after about 5 gos and spitting juice everywhere he got it down. Then it took them about an hour and a half to bring out our two tiny little meals. Which were pretty terrible I gotta say. We poked them down in about 3 minutes, paid the bill and left. We wanted to catch the Fireworks at Napier Port to celebrate Wharf 6 opening. We managed to find a park and walked down to the litltle beach to watch them. Eventually they started, it was freezing cold. Beth hated them, she hated the bangs they made. So we left there having not really enjoyed it, it was mostly Beth grizzling. Theo loved it though.
Today woke up, Sarah is feeling terrible again. Really nauseous and unwell. So she's been in bed all day. I took the kids to swimming, then bought them back and then took Theo out for his MRI. They want to get to the bottom of his low range hearing loss, it's not normal at all and there's no cause they can find, so they're checking using an MRI to see if there's something that might give them a hint as to why his hearing isn't perfect.
He was super brave, he lay so still for the 15 minutes they needed him too. Big smile on his face for most of it too, such a little champion. He was a little bit nervous but he didn't need to be. He was so good. Then I bought him back home, via the dairy for a bag of lollies as a reward for being so good. And the last 15 minutes I've been brewing some beer, hopefully be just in time for my Birthday in case people come over.
