Happy Birthday to Me, Big Bae v2

Submitted by TiM on

The most amazing thing happened last night!  Sarah found a Big Bae on TradeMe.  She was just randomly looking and there it was, a second hand Big Bae.  BUY NOW!  So hopefully sometime this week or next, a backup Big Bae will arrive for our little Linus, just in case BB ever gets lost.  Though as Sarah points out, losing a massive blanket seems like a pretty impossible thing to have happen, especially because we're quite cautious about where we take it.  Still, it'll mean I'll sleep easily knowing we have a backup in case it is ever needed.

Had a great Birthday night out on Friday night.  We went to Brave Brewery for a few pints (as I was leaving they gave me a free birthday bottle of beer which was nice) and then we headed to Piku at Red Barrel.  Simply amazing Japanese food, I couldn't get over how tasty and well done it all was.  We ordered something like 15 plates of food for the 6 of us, it worked out really well!

Once we got back from there we were all a bit happy, we watched Carpool Karoke on TV for a bit before everyone headed home.  Oh Beth and Theo had a babysitter for the night, they seemed to have a great time with her.

Saturday morning I took Theo swimming, then we all went to the playground for some scooter riding, then back home and everyone tried to have a rest but no one was successful.  I cooked dinner for the kids then went to bed cause I was knackered.  Theo started screaming, he'd nearly made it to the toilet but a bit of wee had come out before I got him on the toilet.  I think he was upset and thought I'd be angry with him, because I'd been angry with Beth for the same thing earlier in the day.  I was crabby with Beth though because she watches TV and is so caught up in the TV she ignores the need to go to the toilet until it's a bit to late.  So that was me and Beth standing in the toilet and me making her mop up the wee.  "But it's cold and wet" "Yes, it is, keep cleaning"

Sunday made the kids pancakes then took them for a walk around Jtown, this time we walked up to look at the baby lambs.  A bit hard to see though they were on the other side of the paddock and Mummy Sheep wasn't having of us staring at her babies.

Once we'd had a walk we went to the Farmers Market and had a good time there, there was a blues guitarist who was a 1 man band.  Then the kids had a cupcake and juice, then we headed to KMart for a bit of shopping.  Beth got some new clothes for school, a new pencil case, a new lunchbox etc.  Theo got a new Thomas the Tank Engine that lights up, but thankfully doesn't make a noise.

We went home, I did some weed spraying around the place to  keep things under control.  The kids had fun scootering around, then they helped me wash the car and played around out the back.  Cooked some dinner, which the kids promptly chucked half of it on the carpet in the lounge, making me quite crabby!

Then to make me really, super crabby, my server who's random shutdown I was totally sure I'd figured out by removing the surge protector, randomly shutdown.  So basically now I can't trust it - it runs the home automation and a bunch of other stuff (including the Internet).  So I'll have to investigate what I can use to replace it and relegate it to "play thing" server or something.  Very crabby.
