It's another crap weekend here in Auckland, it's the rain sun rain sun trick that I know so well. It's also a long weekend this weekend, I can't remember what the reason for the holiday is exactly, but it's a holiday so I'm not about to complain about it. KA just told me it's labour day.
I've taken a few chances today with the rain anyway, I got rained on this morning when I rode my bike out to get the paper and some breakfast. The paper shop is just a 5 minute walk down the road, but I decided to ride my bike off way down the road and find a papershop there to buy a paper. That way I got my lazy butt some exercise.
Yesterday was great! I slunk off at 12pm telling Tony (workmate) to cover for me if anything should crop up. I went and brought some beer and walked up to Albert Park to meet Hera. I thought that's where the concert was going to be, in Albert Park, but I was wrong. It turned out it was at the University! And it was a concert for the Uni students cause it was their last day of lectures etc. So really I shouldn't have even been at the concert, but Hera's a student there so I didn't feel too bad. I'm just glad they weren't asking for student ID.
The concert itself was great, there were heaps of people packed into a tiny space, typical uni style function. There was this one girl walking around with a TShirt that said "Nice girls need it too". Most amusing!
They had some great performers on stage, the breakdancing team were amazing, and the DJ's were pretty good too. Not that there were many people dancing, it was too hot for that in the blinding sun. Just as it was about time for Che Fe to take to the stage I got a message on the phone from the boss telling me I had to be on this 4 o'clock phone conference, and just where the hell had I been all afternoon anyway? Whoops. So I had to bugger off back to work just before Che Fu started, which was a bit of a bugger. I'm sure it was a good concert though, Hera at least got to see it so I'll ask her how good it was when I speak to her next.
After work I just kicked back with a bunch of the IT people and drunk their beer (they had a fridge full of it. I need to be working in the IT department obviously)
So all in all a pretty good day.
And yea, like I said, nothing very exciting today, just bike riding and cleaning my apartment and watching TV and chatting online and stuff.
And congratulations to [deleted] about [deleted]. I wish you the very best!
And that's it! I'm now going to go and try and cook Rob's delicious chicken fillet burgers (read the comment at the end of the article)
Seeya!
