We drove down to Danniverke yesterday for Wendy's 65th Birthday Party! Though Theo was sure that Wendy's name was Gwendy. The drive down was pretty uneventful, a few dickheads who enjoy tailgating really closely, but mostly it was just Holly following us down with Joseph and Isla. They've JUST arrived back from Fiji, so bonus points for then driving all the way to Danniverke the next day.
Before we drove down though, Saturday morning was Theo's swim class and he was a champion again. He's gone from being scared of putting his head under water to happily being pushed all the way to the bottom of the pool, picking up a toy then bobbing back up again. Or monkeying along the side of the pool, then letting go, turning around in the water and then coming back up and grabbing onto me. Or the other way around, letting go of me, turning then bobbing up and he's able to grab onto the side of the pool. It's just amazing how much progress he's made in the last 3 weeks, he's really doing such a great job now.
Back from swimming we packed up and headed down to Danniverke. The kids were a bit of a mess once we got there, but once we finally got to the party we realised why, they were starving! Once of those days where they had lots of little snacks but we kinda forgot to give them a decent lunch, so their bloody sugar would have been all over the show. Once they had some dinner they were much better, lots of running around the pub but being quite well behaved really. Wendy's Birthday was a lovely event, lots of tasty food and family. Good stuff.
We got them home to Wendy's and put them to sleep on their blow up air beds, which they loved. Theo woke up about 4am in the morning "I'm COOOLLDDD" because yes his blanket had fallen off, so got that back on him and he was happy.
We got back this afternoon about 2pm and haven't really done too much, Theo had a sleep in the car so he had lots of energy, Beth didn't so she was stuffed when we got home, she watched a bit of TV and went to bed. While she was sleeping, Theo and I got out the lawnmower and leaf blower and cleaned up around the house. He was so happy to help me start the lawnmower, help start the leaf blower. All the time he had his "earmuffers" on. He's a great little helper.
And that's about it really, not too much exciting happened last week. Just work, work and more work. Thanks Granny for the card you sent us, and thanks Dad for the postcards you sent a week or so ago, forgot to mention those here.
