Flight Delays

Submitted by TiM on

Sarah texted on Friday night to say her flight home was delayed. And then again an hour later to say it was cancelled. Bummer! She got booked on an 8:20am flight the next morning and given a hotel for the night. No worries, I hadn't reminded the kids yet she was supposed to be coming home on the Friday night flight, so they didn't know. Went to bed, woke up the next morning and started to get the kids ready.
Very upset and sad phone call from Sarah at about 7:50am, she'd set her alarm for 6:30pm, not 6:30am and was probably not going to make it to the airport in time.
Amazingly I got a text from her about 20 minutes later to say that, dress on backwards and inside out, she'd made it to the airport and just managed to board before they closed the flight! Phew. So we all drove out to pick up Mummy and the kids were very excited to see her, though probably not as happy as Sarah was that she'd actually managed to make it home. It was pretty amazing. We bumped into Charlotte, one of our very-long-time-ago travelling companions as we were leaving the airport, always a bit awkward when you haven't seen someone in ages and everyone's just got off a flight and wanting to get home.

Otherwise a pretty good weekend, Theo really didn't enjoy his swimming lesson. The swimming lady told Holly (who has a lesson after us now with Isla) that she thought it was because I was making Theo go under when he didn't want to. I just reckon Theo was being a right turd, but anyway. He usually really enjoys it heaps, but this time he just kept screaming "No Daddy!" the whole time, from pretty much the start of the lesson. Hopefully next week he's back to enjoying it like he usually does.

We bought some plants from Oderings yesterday to try and fix up the garden against the neighbour's fence. It looks a lot better now. I feel like I"m almost on top of the weeds and the garden so far this year, I wonder if I can keep it up for Christmas?
