Felt pretty cool last night. Cruising around the streets of Napier at 1:30am, checking out this, checking out that. I know everyone who saw me out in my SUV thought to themselves "Wow that guy looks pretty cool, look he's even taking his 11 month old baby out for a cruise too!" Yes, Choppers had a rough night last night. He went to bed at his usual time, but woke up a few times crying but managed to settle himself. But at 10pm or so when I snuck into his room to get the nappy cream (Beth had woken up and needed a nappy change), he woke up. At one stage there I had 2 crying children and the night really was going badly. Beth went back to sleep no worries, but ol' Choppers wasn't having a bar of it. We gave him more milk. We got him up and played with him. We tried putting him into our bed with us. He loved everything until the lights were turned off, at which stage it instantly turned into a screaming festival again. Had to be his teeth, he had super red cheeks and was drooling like producing drool was his job. In the end, having run out of other things to try I took him for a nice long drive. Out to Hastings and back, he eventually gave up and fell asleep 5 minutes from home. When I got home he woke up straight away, but this time was a lot calmer and settled, so I popped him into bed and thankfully, off like a light.
Poor ol' Choppers. And poor ol' Daddy too, Beth woke up at 6am because "It's tooooo darrkkkkkkkkkkk", the little Star nightlight in her room had stopped working. Then again at 6:45am "Daddy I done a pooooooooooosssssss" on the monitor. Alas. I'm sure I'll make it through the day with 4 hours of sleep, this extra large coffee is certainly going to help.
Good work babies!
Tim
