Out Out Gallbaldder!

Submitted by TiM on

I am sitting up on hospital bed after having my Gallbladder removed last night. It's gone! I have a nice bag of stones to take home with me today, so I can take them into work and hand them around for everyone's amusement. Or not as the case may be.
My check in time yesterday to hospital wasn't until 3:30pm, I was the last patient of the day. It seems the healthier you are the later they do you because you'll need less post-op treatment. Sarah bought me out to the hospital then helped me to get my sexy hospital underpants on, the to shave off all my tummy hair ready for the operation. Then it was time to walk down the corridor of no return, where I met all the surgical team briefly. Then I get the magic happy drugs and it's off to sleep time for me! Next thing I knew I was waking up and it was all done.
They rang Sarah who was here to visit me straight away, everything went well and I'm going home this morning after a fairly good night's sleep considering. The hardest part of sleep is the machine they attach to your calf muscles to help you not get deep vain thrombosis. It pumps up every couple of minutes. After a while the brain learns to tune out.

Had a good breakfast and a shower this morning, I'm just sitting in the chair in my room waiting to be collected.
