COVID Arrives, Karate Grading

Submitted by TiM on

Beth woke up yesterday morning with a cough and quite a blocked/runny nose.  I honestly didn't think too much of it at first, got them both up as usual, fed them breakfast etc.  I even had a shower ready to go to work.  It wasn't until I was walking out the door that my brain went "Oh hey we might want to Covid test Beth" so I got Sarah to do that while I got the last bit of everything ready for work.  Sarah came into the lounge 5 minutes later "I've got some bad news".  So that's why we'll be working from home for the next few days.  At least Easter is coming up and, thankfully, we don't have any travel plans this long weekend, so our isolation time isn't impacting anything.  Just our will to live.  Beth's been great though actually, she slept fine last night (apart from a huge pile of tissues by her bed) and she asked for Scrambled Eggs for breakfast this morning and she's eating those happily while playing games with Theo.  She told me this morning she "Really feels like she's got Covid!" but I don't see it.  Though to be fair I did give her another round of Pamol this morning because she was looking and feeling a bit average.

Tropical Cyclone Fili is here and thankfully we don't seem to have copped too much stick overnight, not like the paper predicted anyway.  Lots of rain this morning, I can't be bothered to go and get Biscuit out of his dogbox.  I mean I will go and get him in a few minutes, but meh.  It's wet out there!

Theo did his Karate grading on Monday night, now he's a Orange Belt with Blue Tip.  And Beth bought home a certificate which she's quite proud of I think, though she hasn't said that much about it.  Photos.

And that's probably it really.  On the weekend took the kids into town to go to Bay Skate.  Both Beth and Theo are getting good at their rollerskating and rollerblading.  Sunday afternoon we went to Anderson Park, Theo took the crazy cart for a lap around, Beth went all the way around on her rollerskates.  Which was pretty impressive really.

And now we all hang out at home for a week!
