One of the many lovely presents I got for my birthday was a Fitbit Blaze from Sarah. It's a very nice watch/fitness tracker, my only gripe is that it's not waterproof like my old one, so I have to take it off to shower etc. But I'm used to doing that now, so even that's not really a problem. Oh and charging it every few days can be a pain, but again that's easy enough to do while I'm at my desk at work. Anyway, my point was that our Health Insurance have a little scheme setup called Healthy and you can link up your Fitbit account to it. If you walk 7500 steps in a day you get 3 points, 10,000 you get 5 points and 12,500+ you get 10 points. There's other things you can do to get points, at the end of a year if you have enough points you get cash back on your policy, $50, $75 or $100. So I've been out walking and collecting points. I suppose it's a bit like a grown up version of Pokemon? Tonight I was walking and I'd done 10,000 steps for the day and was nearly home but I though fek I should probably double my points so off I charged for another 15 minutes to get that extra 5 points. So I suppose the point of the whole thing is working?
Anyway, I quite like the fitbit, it gives you reminders to move and cheers you on etc. I wonder how long the novelty will last, but it's been nearly a month and I'm still enjoying tracking my stats etc.
Theo was a happy camper this morning, I gave him a mouthful of porridge and HURRRPPRPYPYPYY *PLOP PLOP PLOP* HURRRRP all over the floor with a power chuck. Oh dear. I had to go and wake Sarah up to assist with the morning routine, I'd been thrown off tack. Trying to get them dressed and pack their lunchboxes AND keep them out the spew. Beth: "Did Theo do a spew? There? Is that his spew? That there?" and me shooing her away 20 times, while then I'd forget Theo who would try and crawl back into the kitchen into it. Silly Theo. Anyway, got them all sorted and off to Jenny's.
Theo is such a funny fella, he can say "Awww Yea!" now and gets excited when it's nearly time for bed. "Time for bed Theo?" "Awww Yea! Awwww Yea!". Won't be too long before he's walking.
I think that's about it, time for bed. Awww Yea.
