I've decided I really need to get a car. I'm at the stage where there is a
lot of stuff I want to do, and public transport here in Auckland is pretty
much a laughable joke. My car of choice? Well, I haven't brought anything yet
(and probably won't for a month or so) but I'm looking at Mini!! They're
small, don't use much gas, are easy to fix, and who's going to want to steal a
mini, right? That's the theory anyway.
I'll then have to pay to be able to park it somewhere, but I think I'll look
at moving a bit futher out of town once I do get a car. Probably only far
enough so I can ride / catch a ferry. Having see the traffic here of a
morning there is no way I want to drive. Plus paying $10 a day for parking
seems a bit pointless if I can ride. So yea, I haven't actually done anything
yet, but I'm going to start looking about to see what's available. I think
the MR2 will have to wait a little while yet!
It's been a pretty good weekend.
Saturday I went out with Adam and Nat and some of their friends for
breakfast/lunch, then we drove to Kate's party which was really good.
Really nice house with a salt water pool. Very nice,
especially on a hot day like it was. It was a pretty casual party, just sit
around and swim and drink a few beers. That took up all of Saturday, and
today I haven't done a real lot, just been up to Albert park to read a book
and spent most of the afternoon listening to music and watching the Melbourne
Grand Prix.
And now it's about time for bed!
