Theo has suddenly gone on a rampage wanting to learn to ride his bike (sans training wheels). Not sure what's prompted it, maybe the boys at school talking about it, seeing other kids riding, or the fact that Beth rode up to school the other day while he was on his scooter. Either way, suddenly on the weekend just gone he declared that was it, it wanted to "give it another go" which is a sharp change of tune from "No thanks I don't want to" when we've been asking him if he'd like to have another go riding.
Sunday he really got into it, he got out there on his bike and did circles around in the driveway, over and over. And the thing was, he fell down. Quite a few times. But even though the peddles knocked his legs, or he got a scrapped knee or hand, he still got back up and got back on and kept at it! Something is driving him, no idea what but it's great to see him really giving it a go. And of course in about 2 hours in the front yard he went from being a wobbly mess to really getting the hang of it, doing quite tight circles and mostly only falling off if he accidentally got his tire into the grass/concrete verge.
Saturday was the usual Saturday, got up and took the kids to Tennis, then to Beth's swimming lesson. Theo has been on at us for more Bayblade things, he's been saving all his "Dollarbucks" up to get a new Bay arena. Sarah found a really good one at the Warehouse so she ordered him for him, and Saturday we went out to collect it. We got out his $40 from the ATM and gave it to him, so that he could hand it over and (hopefully) understand he was giving away his hard earned cash for his Bayblade arena. Not sure that worked, but anyway he got it and he's so happy with it. Which of course means that he spends every waking second bugging someone for a Bayblade battle! 3 2 1 Let It Rip! His favourite at the moment is Drain Fafnir, it always seems to win for him. And even I have to admit that his new Bay Arena is pretty neat, the Bays have much more exciting fights/battles in it than the old blue Bay Arena he has. He still likes to play with the old one now and then, but the new one is certainly flavour of the week. So I try to find spare time to have battles with him, because I know it's a bit boring for him to always be battling himself. Nothing worse than getting a cool toy that requires two people to enjoy, and no one will play with you.
Bevan and his Dad came to visit us in Rufus, the Ranga Mobile. Nice to see Bevan, he's as funny as always. He was playing silly buggers with the kids on Saturday morning and they thought he was hilarious, then he took them for a spin in Rufus much to their delight.
I think that's about it really, work has been work. Might be some new stuff coming up, hope to find out in the next few days if that's the case. Sarah's good, kids are good, Biscuit is good. I haven't been doing enough running of late, I'll have to get back on top of that.
