Beth's First Parent Teacher Interview / Nit Revenge

Submitted by TiM on

Mrs Sinden called us in for our first parent teacher interview about Beth this morning.  She said that Beth is doing really well, she's a great student, always up the front of the class, always asking questions etc.  She's doing really really well with her reading, she showed us a bunch the tests they'd given her and they were all 38-39 out of 40.  So she's a bit of a clever cookie, which wasn't really a huge shock to us.  She loves her reading so much, she loves the challenge of a hard book and some hard words.

It was also really nice to talk to Mrs Sinden, listening to her talk about what she sees in Beth, the things she's good at, the things she needs help with etc makes you really appreciate what a great and important job the early childhood teachers do.  I think we're really lucky to have her as Beth's teacher!

Before heading to school, Beth mentioned to me she had an itchy head.  uh-oh.  I had a look but couldn't see anything, so I had another look when I got home and sure enough, little nitties!  So there was a bit of a drama with the whole "I don't wannnntttt nits" but then as Sarah pointed out afterwards, she got special treatment, a special hair wash and then to sit up and watch a bit more TV than usual while two parents fussed over her.  I think in the end she quite liked having them!  Though hopefully they're gone now.

Week 4 of Marathon training is almost done, apart from the Saturday run.  Only 26 more weeks to go.  I'm quietly impressed with myself for managing to get up every morning still at 5:30am to go for a run with Jordan.  He's been good encouragement.  Weight is still (slowly) coming down too with the calorie counting and all that jazz.

Not too much else happening this week, there was a teachers strike on Tuesday so Beth went to Grandma's with Theo.  Today Sarah is going to Kindy to help out with a big walk from Kindy down to the new playground for an hour or so.

Oh and he's Theo and Big Bae up to say good morning, so I'd better hit publish.
