Drone Flying, Sudoku, Make up.

Submitted by TiM on

One thing I missed off the original list of presents that Theo got was a drone that Grandma bought over for him on Monday night.  Gosh he was excited, he's wanted a drone for ages and ages.  We've resisted getting him one because most of them seem to be quite complex and hard to fly, but the one Grandma got for him is actually not that bad really.  It has a button you preses to take off and it's the same button you press to land.  Theo's quickly learnt if it's flying towards trees/danger and he doesn't feel like he'll be able to get control to mash the "land" button.  And it pops itself onto the ground and he runs up joyfully to collect it and place it back in the middle of the lawn and off we go again.  The drone is also quite good in that once you've turned it off, you have to re-pair the remote control with the drone, something Theo doesn't know how to do (special key combination) so he can't just sneak outside when we're not looking and accidentally fly it into power lines.  Not that he would, but, well, he sometimes finds its easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission!

But yea, he's actually really really good at flying it.  I must admit, I was wrong thinking he wouldn't be able to fly it at all, he's actually after only a couple of flights got the hang of making it go where he wants it to go.  Last night he even managed to land it at the front door, which was quite impressive!

The only problem with it is that it takes about 2 hours to charge up, and then it'll fly for 7-8 minutes before it's flat and needs another 2 hour charge.

Beth last night got given some makeup brushes and makeup by Sarah.  That photo doesn't even do justice to quite how orange/red her face was!  She loves it though.  She's also really good at Sudoku, she's got a book where you have to do boxes of 1-6.  Last night I was helping her do it at her request, but then I got told it was "boring" because I was helping too much.  I think what she actually wanted was someone to sit with her and be impressed with how good she is at it.  So I'll do that tonight instead of offering suggestions and pointers!

That's all, back to work.

Tim
