The Bucks Night

Submitted by TiM on

What an interesting Thursday night Chris' bucks night was. Lots of partying, Beer and Beam, 3 arrests, and 1 very very boring buck. We started off down at Irish Murphies, me, Travers, Travers' friend Simon and my friend Tim. We had a few beers, including a "Black Death in Custody" (Pint of Guiness with a shot of Kaluha) and then a tasty meal, and decided it was time to catch a cab up to Chris' place to start the partying...

There were quite a few more people up at Chris' place, and it looked like the beginnings of a good night. We had a few more beers, Beam & Cokes and other stuff, before deciding to head back down to Irish Murphies to start Chris on his list of challenges. Here is a close copy of the list of tasks we gave him:

Back in NZ

Submitted by TiM on

Well I made it back into NZ yesterday after 4 days of flat out partying and fun. At least when I flew in NZ this time I had a home and a bed to go to! All my stuff still hasn't arrived, but then again I hadn't really expected it to. At least I finally have my minidisc player (thanks Travers) which had pretty much done 2 laps around Tasmania before I managed to track it down.

It was really good to catch up with everyone (well, most people) again, I just wish I'd had a bit more time there, 4 days was never going to be enough time. Still, I got to have a sail and I saw Tru Blue back in action again. Even if it did need some minor adjustments with a hammer before it would go on the water.

The Bucks Night and Wedding were both...

Back To Hobart!

Submitted by TiM on

Well I'm flying back to good ol' Hobart tomorrow on the Damn-it's-way-too-early-for-this-flying-crap flight from Auckland to Melbourne. I was going to bitch about the 2.5 hour wait in Melbourne, but one of my mates who lives there is going to come to the airport so we can have a beer or sixteen and catchup with what's been happening.

I'm really looking forward to it all now. I've got the best man speech pretty much written up, nothing too embarassing for the groom. There is nothing worse than a wedding where all sorts of terrible things get dragged up and everyone ends up looking at their feet or the roof because it's embarassing. So none of that. The bucks night for tomorrow night is also pretty much organised too. I was going to go all out and get the mystery bus tour etc, but I don't think there will be enough...

Nothing much to say today!

I had a pretty casual weekend really. I didn't end up helping out at the SPCA because no one got in contact with me until Saturday night. Doesn't matter for this weekend anyway, because I have plenty to do! Too much almost.

I came into work at 5:40am this morning, and it's 4:50pm now so I'm pretty tired. Definetly going to have a sleep in tomorrow to make up for it I think. I don't mind though, I'm still learning lots and getting stuff done (sometimes) so it's all going well.

Here are some funny pictures I've seen around the web that I've collected.

I really can't be bothered typing anything else.

1 more week

Submitted by TiM on

Only 1 more week before I fly home for a well earned 4 day Holiday.

I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone again, and of course the big wedding too. Also (of course) some real Australian Beer! Mr Boags here I come!!

Last night my flatmate Natile rang me up to make sure I was alright. The reason for this is that there was a stabbing in our street on Wednesday night!! I didn't hear anything, and I didn't read anything about it in the papers, but some other people heard that it happened. I know a Taxi driver got stabbed in the head, maybe that was the same thing. I'm just wondering if the reason she rang me up was to find out if 1) I'd been stabbed, or 2) If I'd been stabbing people! ;)

Well, it's good to know I live in such a safe happy street...

Nothing Much To Say Today.

Submitted by TiM on

Nothing much has been happening today, just back to work as usual. There are still heaps of people away so getting stuff done can also be a bit of a problem. The Giant Santa is still waving at us, beckoning us to come into the bookstore to buy Christmas things. Stupid Santa. Someone should really pull him down, seeing as Christmas has been and gone, as has New Year.

I've finally tracked down my MiniDisc player. It got sent back up to Travers who's in Launceston. For those that don't know what I'm taking about, don't worry. Suffice to say my MiniDisc player has pretty much taken the grand tour of Tasmania. I can't wait to get my hands on it though, as my stuff still hasn't arrived here in Auckland and I don't really hold a lot of hope that it's going to get here before the end of...

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope everyone had a really good one. I had a fairly quiet one, but that's not such a bad thing. Give the ol' liver a chance to recover!

They had some really excellent fireworks off the Sky Tower which looked really spectaculor. I'm getting the photos developed at the moment so I'll know shortly.

I'm in at work today working my speech for Chris' wedding. I'm just trying to remember all the stupid things he's done so I can drag them up and embarrass him (not too badly)

I'm slowly getting there.

Take Care!

New Chat Feature

Submitted by TiM on

In the quest to have the most pointless webpage ever, I have installed a real-time chat feature. You can click on the chat link in the menu, enter a username (you don't need a password) then click on the "chat" button. If I'm there you can talk to me in real time, which is better than emails! Happy New Year!

New Year Is Almost Here!

Ok so I'm a crap poet.

I hope everyone has a really good New Year's. We get both Monday and Tuesday off for New Years here. I'm not quite sure why we get the Tuesday off, but I'm not about to complain about it. It's good anyway, it means that next week will be another 3 day week. There are only 2 things better than a 3 day week, they are the 2 day week and the 1 day week.

Check out "Am I Hot or Not?". This is one of the crazier websites I have seen in the last few weeks.

Some of the Fijian guys at work today brought in some Kava to drink. It's the root of some plant (The Kava plant?) crushed up and mixed with water. It's ment to relax you, and I can say that after 7 or so bowls full I was...

Back To Work...

Submitted by TiM on

Yes, it's that wonderful time after Christmas where you get to head back to work and, fek it, work. Oh well, at least I had a pretty good Christmas, and I hope everyone else did too. I was also lucky enough to get a great little stash of presents, including camping gear, "The Games" video, Guido Hatzis CD (very funny, buy it) and lots of chockies etc.

Update: Check out How to be a Bloke

Christmas day was pretty boring, but that's OK because Christmas Eve was pretty good so that's alright. We sat around and had a few drinkies and unwrapped most of our presents, seeing as no one was going to be about on Christmas day. In the end I went up to the Video store and got a few videos to watch. So, not the most traditional Christmas day, but I had fun so who cares?
