Crazy Arse Bus Drivers

Submitted by TiM on

Now that I've moved out of the city I get the joy of either walking, riding, or catching a bus into work. Yesterday and today I decided to catch the bus, just to see how quick it was and how often then come etc. Well Fek me, I count myself lucky to still be alive. The buses have these special bus lanes over here (like any big city.)

Rather than treat these lanes as their lane and drive down it sanly, they seem to treat this lane like it's thier runway, and the only way to get us all to work safetly is to charge down it as fast as the bus will go.

Luckily I'm still alive after today ordeal. I'm sure some people up the back with me silently shat their pants as we went over some serious bumps at about 500 kmh. I reckon the sparks must...

Satan the Fly Killer

Submitted by TiM on

I forgot to mention yesterday that I brought myself a Venus Fly Trap on Saturday. "Satan" as I like to call it has already munched about 3 flys out of existance.

Mum and Auntie Leanne are now famous, with the following article having appeared in the Burnie Advocate (the height of quality papers!)

Off two the top of the world

Yesterday she climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge and tomorrow she leaves Australia to walk halfway up the world's highest mountain.

Burnie Leanne Bonney will be living a dream over the next month, as she travels to Mt Everest base camp, about 5600 meters above sea level.

Mrs Bonney and here sister, Sydney's Sallee Harman, enjoyed the challenge yesterday of walking along the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, a three hour jaunt.

And tomorrow the pair will be on...

Weekend and Stuff

Submitted by TiM on

I went and brought myself some furniture on the weekend. Finally, no more crap lying all over the floor. Instead I can stuff it in the drawers so that the crap will still all be there, just noone will see it. I brought some really cheap (but new) stuff, it's not painted at all, and just made out of that fine chipboard stuff. I've got nothing planned over easter though, so I think I'll get myself a can of that staining stuff, and slather that all over it.

I brought myself a bookcase, a bedside table, and a big set of drawers. Hopefully that'll be enough, though I'll probably need a desk at some stage too.

Saturday night was really cool! There was a rugby match on over at Eden Park, we chucked up the "Parking sign", and before you knew it we had 20 cars in the backyard, and...

Getting Better

Submitted by TiM on

Finally I seem to be getting better, woohoo. Not so well that I went into work or anything, and I don't think I'll be drinking any lagers this weekend, but at least now I don't feel like I'm on my deathbed anymore. I spent most of today in bed still, but I also watched some videos. And organised some insurance, so if my stuff gets nicked I'm covered. I wasn't too worried about someone breaking in at Federal St, but this old house would be a lot easier to break into that Federal St.

I watched two movies today. Well, one and a half. Guest House Paradiso was total crap, I only got about 45 minutes into that before I turned it off. It's a dud, don't rent it unless you think that Bottom is just the funniest thing ever. The other movie was Scary Movie, and that was very...

Crap I hate being sick...

Submitted by TiM on

Fek. I've got the worst cold in the history of colds. Well that's how it feels anyway. I was down in Wellington on Tuesday for a training course, and I was feeling fine up until lunchtime. After that I started to feel really crappy, and I haven't felt much better since. I flew home early on Wednesday, I certainly wouldn't have been able to concentrate on the course all day, and no way would I want to give this rotten bug to anyone else...

Now my sleeping patterns are all fekked up. I've pretty much slept for the past 24 hours, and now (7:45pm) I'm wide awake and not sleepy at all. I went and got some videos from the video store, but it turns out that the VCR doesn't have the right cables to plug into the TV. Everything is against me at the moment! The only reason I...

Weekend and Stuff.

Submitted by TiM on

Pretty good weekend just gone! I've moved into my new place and it's really nice. Only problem so far, I had trouble getting to sleep last night because it was TOO quiet. I'm so used to banging and yelling and flushing toilets it was amazing to have a night that was almost totally quiet!

The place is a nice big house, all polished wooden floors. It's a bit like the old cottage out in New Town, and just as drafty. Still, it's much better than the flat, there is heaps more space and it's much more "comfortable". Adam and Nat helped me move all my stuff up there yesterday, we got it all up in 1 car trip (with 2 cars). Thanks guys, I'd probably have been stuffed without their help!

My new contact details

Down to Wellington again tomorrow for another 2 day course. We're getting trained up in...

Trip to Wellington

Submitted by TiM on

Well I've just gotten back from a 2 day trip down to good old Windy Wellington. It's name isn't a joke, it seriously blows its tits off there for what seems like the whole day.

The purpose of this little flight down to Wellington was for a big meeting with our new manager, his manager, and some HR people to discuss our currently problems and concerns, and the new direction for the future.

If everything that was discussed happens, then I think everything will be funky. It'll definetly be a case of wait and see though, it's easy to make lots of noise but then have nothing happen still.

We went out for drinks after the big meeting (of course) which was nice. We went to some really dodgy chinese resturant, and everyone was giving the waitress crap. She could hardly speak a word of english, and knew only the...

Please Stop Biting Me, Stupid Mutts!

Submitted by TiM on

So I've pedalled my way out to the SPCA today for another fun packed day of walking, feeding, getting bititen by and generally helping out Auckland's lost/stray/unwanted Ubus. Stupid mutts! You'd think they could show there appreciating by not throwing up on you and biting you. I got bitten a total of 5 or 6 times today. None were serious, and I don't think I've manged to contract rabies or anything. The poor dogs just get frightened by all the other dogs sometimes, and they react by snapping at anything in their path. Unfortunatly I was the "anything" a number of times.

So, like I said, I pedalled my way out there. Well, I rode to the train station, caught the train, and rode from there to the SPCA. I finally did it yesterday, I brought a BMX. This caused a fair amount of amusement from my workmates, not the...
