Sometimes I fucking hate this place.

Yaaa another night of working late and having a happy happy time. I've got some work to do at 9pm, which can't really be done any earlier. I think I'm going to fall asleep at my desk before 9pm rolls around. At least to make things more fun our upstream internet provider has deicded to shit a link. So I get to fix faults while I wait. Moan bitch bitch moan.

I forgot to mention that I lost my camera the other week. How damn pissed am I? VERY VERY pissed in fact. Extra mega with lots of cream on top pissed. I think it was actually stolen out of my car. I'm not sure what happened to it, but I don't have it anymore. Thankfully it didn't have any film in it (I lost no pictures) but it means I'll have to get another one. I'd have claimed it...

Can't be bothered...

So here's a fantastic joke instead:

A philosophy professor stood before his class and had some items in

front of him. When the class began, wordlessly he picked up a large empty

mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with rocks, rocks about 2"

in diameter. He then asked the students if the jar was full? They

agreed that it was.

So the professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them

into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles, of course, rolled

into the open areas between the rocks. He then asked the students again if the

jar was full. They agreed it was. The students laughed.

The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of

course, the sand filled up everything else.

"Now," said the professor, "I want you to recognise that this is

your life. The rocks...

Stuff

Yup still alive. I've been sick the last 2 days (just the ol' flu, everyone's had it) so I haven't updated my site in a while.

Got my car fixed the other day, it's nice to have a car that drives around again and doesn't sound like it's falling to pieces whenever I'm putting my foot on the brakes. As I suspect the brakes had a numbers of issues, not the least of which was a stuck caliper on the right hand side. This was causing the disc to wear away to nothing, and to make the car drive like a slug (and use lots of petrol too)

It's all been fixed now and I'm $450 lighter. At least I don't feel like I'm driving a death trap anymore!

Apart from that not a lot happening, like I said I've been in bed sick yesterday and today. I'm finally feeling...

Moving Day, The Rain, No Brakes, Pass Me A Lager

I've spent most of today moving and setting up my funky new place. I actually stayed here last night, just cause I could. It sucked this morning when I got up though, no coffee, no towels for a shower, pretty much nothing at all. I'll tell you what, I was REALLY glad the last tennants had left behind a bog roll. Otherwise there could have been some "issues"!!

Wellington was really good, I had a great time and learnt a whole bunch. Well I think I did, I suppose it'll become more obvious if I actually did when the new network rolls out. I'm pretty sure I learnt lots, so I'm happy. Friday afternoon the shite hit the fan over an issue that's been brewing for a while, but thankfully after spending about 2 hours on the phone to various people we managed to sort it all out. Thank the...

Cold Wellington

Submitted by TiM on

God it's cold here. I think I've said that already. It's like it's the middle of Winter, but Winter hasn't even started yet. Wellington sucks like that.

I went out last night to go and see my old manager play. He plays Irish Music at a local Wellington pub (Molly Malones), so I try and go and say hi when I'm in Wellington. Plus it's a great Irish pub. So I don't really need an excuse. Sounds like he's having a lot of fun now that he's not working for TelstraSaturn anymore. No comment there...

Not much else really. Turns out the lease on our place doesn't expire until the 26th of June. This means I'm going to be paying rent at two places for a month. I'm a bit pissed off about this, but there's not really a lot I can do. I've already said (and paid...

Feking Wellington + The Goal Scoring King!!

Submitted by TiM on

Well here I am in Wellington again. Boy I'm getting a bit sick of all this flying. At least my flight down today was one of those nice ones where you can just sleep most of the way there. Except for the landing bit, where the sudden drop at the end scares the crap out of you. Well, it scares the crap out of me that's for sure!

I managed to make it to my 3rd Hockey game for the season yesterday! You know what? We finally won a match! You know what the score was? 1 nil. You know which fantastic prince of the hockey stick scored that magical goal that won us the match? Oh yea baby! I'm the fucking man! Just a little run up to the goal, a small tap, and BAMMO!!! Pass me a medal please!!! Oh yea!!! More exclamation marks please!!!!!

Ok, so actually...

Fek Me! Moving already!

Submitted by TiM on

Well can you believe it, I'm moving house already. I found out a while ago that the lease on this place expired in while, and I also found out that Greg and Kim probably weren't going to take the lease out again for another year. Turns out the lease expires in the next two weeks!! I'm not really prepared to take out a $400 lease, then try and find flatmates etc. I've decided that I want a place of my own, so this morning I got up bright and early (Ok, 11am), went up to the shops and got myself a paper.

Fek it's expensive to rent in Auckland. I want a nice 2 bedroom apartment, so I can have 1 room as a study, or maybe get a flatmate in (not sure yet). The first place I checked out was $200 a week, and it was dive central. Bits...

More of this damn Wellington place...

Submitted by TiM on

Yep, here I am stuck in Wellington again. Sigh. Could be a lot worse I

suppose, I could be in ChristChurch. OR Hobart! The training course has

been going quite well, if not a little boring. It's just some of what we're

learning isn't really all that relevant, so we tend to get a little

frustrated.

I'm just about to go out for tea with a couple of the guys from Auckland and

their Amex cards. I don't have one yet (my fault), so last night I just ate

at the hotel with my workmate. And the hotel food wasn't all that shabby

actually, I was quite suprised. Normally you'd expect crap, but it was

pretty good food at a good price. Not that we were worried about how much

it cost at all. All praise the expense account. Not that we abused it or

anything, unlike last week I...

In Wellington next two weeks.

Submitted by TiM on

I'm in Wellington for the rest of this week! Fly back on Friday, have the weekend in Auckland, then bugger off back down to Wellington for all of next week. I've probably already said that in this stupid diary about 3 times, but hey. Get over it.

I've been talking with Rob and Denny about a holiday back to Hobart/Melbourne sometime in July. What I'll probably do is fly back to Hobart for a week (or more) then fly up to Melbourne with Rob and Denny (and maybe some other people?) to muck around there, watch some footy, drink some Melbourne beer etc. That's the plan anyway, just hope I can get some time off (that's right around the time the new core network goes live.)

What else has been happening? Not much really. Didn't do a lot yesterday, just hung out at a friends place and watch a few...
