Biking to School!

Submitted by TiM on

Beth rode her bike to school this morning!  Yup! All the way.  So proud.  We took her and Theo to Anderson Park yesterday, and she did a great job of riding all the way around it.  She even figured out with a bit of effort how to get started by herself, last weekend we had to keep giving her a push to get her going but this weekend she figured out how to get a little run up going and then put her feet on the pedals.

Anyway a very proud morning for everyone!  She was so happy to be riding on her bike, no training wheels, to school.  We had one near miss near this driveway I hate, cars always come out of it fast not expecting pedestrians etc, and sure enough this morning a car came out.  Thankfully the driver wasn't going fast, I'd pre-warned Beth to slow down (easier said than done for her) and I managed to catch her before she booped into the side of the car.  Otherwise though, incident free.  I was worried she'd fall in the large ditch next to the road on Meanne Road, but she rode straight and confident along there.

Oh yes it was a long weekend, which was nice.  Saturday Theo and I did jobs around the house (gardening, weeding, cleaning up the leaves, finding dog poos to pick up etc etc).  Sunday morning more of the same, except we both put our woolen granny-knitted hats on.  Sunday afternoon I went to Westshore Inn with my workmates for a bit of an ol' Sunday Session.  Had a great time, they offer discounts to SOBA members too on Sunday so everyone of course kept borrowing my SOBA membership card up at the bar.

And yea, Monday was the Queen's Birthday, I took Biscuit for a walk and then we went to Anderson Park for bike riding and Biscuit walking.  Biscuit is quite good, still very puppyish though doing dumb, over-excited things (jumping up on people etc).  But he's a good dog.  Sarah went to the Supermarket in the afternoon and stopped by Peter and Mary's, picked up the old Digital Piano/Organ that she used to use when she was little!  Beth and Theo had a great time playing it.

Went and got my Marathon Medal engraved, picked that up today.  Looks good!

I'm sure there's more to write, but that'll do for the moment!

Tim
