What a day yesterday was. It started out well enough at 5:00am, I got up and went for a run at 5:45. I thought to myself I'll do another 10km, I had the time and it was a nice cool morning. I got about 6.5kms in before my knee suddenly started to really hurt. Really hurt! So I had to walk/limp myself home. What a right bugger.
I took the scooter in to get the rear tire replaced, I knew it was pretty worn. The guy looked at it and said yup it needs replacement and HOLY HELL what about the front tire replace that now! So it's getting both its tires replaced. Glad I took it in, it's been something I've been meaning to do for ages.
Went to work, no worries. Got a call from Sarah about 30 minutes later "The power's off, do you know why?". Turns out Unison had a planned outage in our street, but they didn't notify us of it. Usually they do. So we rang them up and they said "You'd have got a letter in your box for sure". I sent them a crabby email and got a call a few minutes later with a very apologetic lady. They had us as being fed off grid A but we're really fed off grid B and it was grid B that was shutdown. Only people they thought were on grid B got a letter which is why we didn't. It was a real pain for poor Sarah though, she was right in the middle of a very important piece of work when the power went off. So she switched to battery on her laptop and phone, but then the phone company disabled tethering on her mobile. In the end she had to come into work here because the power was off from 9:30am until about 2pm! Poor thing.
Anyway, was a bit of a shit of a day especially for Sarah. And for me knee.
After I got home the kids went for a swim with Sarah in the pool, then I went to the first night of Biscuit training though it wasn't with Biscuit, he doesn't go until next week. This was just the orientation class to tell us what to expect, what to wear, what to bring, what lead/treats we should have etc. I also found out that Biscuit is starting training very young, it's more like 6 months old you're supposed to start training them. Ooops. I thought the sooner the better, but it turns out that's not always the case.
I'll have to go see a Physio about my knee today... Ouchie.
