Long night last night! Sarah and I watched a movie (State of Play - not too bad) and then just as I was getting off to sleep there was a cry at the bedroom door. Beth had woken up with bad nightmares, so I gave her a cuddle and walked her back downstairs and tucked her into bed. I had a snack and then just as I was walking back up the stairs I heard Theo "Daddy Daddy!!! DADDDDYYYYYY!!! I've done a spew in my bed". The words you always want to hear at ~11:30 at night. Oh dear, I went in to see him and he wasn't lying, he had indeed vomited all over the show. So I put him in the shower (poor little man was white as a ghost) and changed his sheets, got him all tucked back upto bad. Hooray for backup BigBae, as the current one in rotation had spew all over it. So snuck down backup Big Bae and got him all tucked up back in bed, gave him a spew bowl etc. Anyway he was basically up all night, at least until ~4am or so, being sick every 30 minutes or so. I kept helping him get it in the bowl and he did a great job, a couple of little misses, but mostly on target. Poor Biscuit who was sleeping in the laundry was very upset by the washing machine going, that started him yowling with fear. What a night!
So no kindy for Theo today, and no work for Daddy because work is a bit hard on 2 hours sleep and there's nothing so important at the moment that I NEEDED to be there.
Had a good weekend, Holly and Adrian have a contract they're happy with on their house. Had a few drinks with them on Friday night, though I was so knackered. Saturday was Theo's last day of swimming at Jillyfish, he did really well as he always does, lots of driving and tricks and long swims under water. After Jillyfish we went out to the pool shop in Hastings to get all the stuff I needed to keep the pool clean, green and lovely over Christmas. It's looking really good at the moment now, nice and balanced, just a little bit cloudy but I'm working on that last little problem. It's not green and it's fine to swim in, that's the main thing. Then I swung by Brave to fill up my beer flagons, only to realise they open at 12pm on Saturday, not 11:20 or so. But Jarrod who works there knows me and came running out and let me fill up my flaggons anyway, that was nice, we had a chat about what's happening in the brewing world. Final stop was to buy an electric lice comb, Beth still had nasty bite marks all on her neck so we decided to call in the big guns.
Saturday afternoon did some chores around the house, mowed down Gordan St, mowed the other lawns that Bo doesn't do. I was pretty proud of myself, last weekend I knocked the petrol tap off the mower somehow, petrol leaked out everywhere. I was going to just take it in to get repaired but then I realised that's probably a basic enough repair I can do myself. So I got a new one and fitted it during the week and it works! I mean it's a simple tap, probably the easiest job that can be done on a mower, but this is me we're talking about. Jordan from work came over to visit so he could meet biscuit. Saturday night we had Burger Wisconsin for dinner and then off to bed.
Sunday we went to FG Smith for breakfast, then went home for a swim in the pool (Which was now all balanced and chlorinated and perfect) and had a lovely swim. Took Beth/Theo a little while to warm up to being able to do the same thing in the pool as they do at Jillyfish, I think mostly because there's no easy place for them to stand up. Plus the water was freezing. But after a while they got the hang of it and were happily swimming around, swimming to the ladder, jumping in etc. It was great!
After swimming I mowed all the back lawns and got them looking nice, Sarah went to Hastings to do a bit of shopping. I cooked dinner on the BBQ and David Harris and his wife Sarah came over to pickup their car.
And then after dinner Sarah and I watched a movie and then you know the rest, vomit a rama.
