Back from a very long week in New Plymouth, though it wasn't that long in time it was certainly that long in mental effort and how tired I am now. It's Saturday afternoon now and I'm sitting on the couch while Theo passes me a torch over and over again saying "Ta! Ta!". I throw it, he gets it, gives it to me, some "Ta"ing occurs and then it's the same thing over and over.
Oh, well, Beth was having a sleep. The phone rang a couple of times and I was submitting bug reports for the software I'm using to type this. Typical me. Everyone's awake now and watching Youtube on the big TV in the lounge. We'd go outside but it's been raining all afternoon, annoyingly enough. I still got a bit of work done around to house this morning though, plus some weeding this afternoon.
I love my new blower vac. This time of year the flowers all drop off the wistera and pile up everywhere. I used to hate having to get out the broom and sweeping them all up, and they were always hard to get out of the gaps in the deck. With a huge uber vac machine I just fire that badboy up and it sucks up all the leaves and crap into the bag with minimal effort. It really is a fantastic machine, probably the one I'll use the most I think, because crap is always collecting in the carport and around the place.
As I said earlier, New Plymouth was mental. Just work work work and not really much fun. The customer was late getting stuff ready, one of the key boxes didn't have any power until 11am on Thursday. We were coming home at 2pm on Friday. Then to top things off I put some code into the firewall that was meant to disable some security checks. But it didn't work. But it looked like it worked. So I spent 2 hours debugging an issue and of course didn't suspect that my simple disable wasn't working. Argh!
Anyway, when we left on Friday we'd actually got a lot of work done and were in quite a good position, but not quite finished yet so time to head back next week. Alas.
What else has been happening? Beth and I went to the Hot Pools in Napier (Ocean Spa) today while Theo slept. Beth had a great time, though she loves changing pools every 2 minutes which gets a bit tedious after a while. I had to say to her "The next pool we pick we're going to stay in for at least 15 minutes" which seemed to tame the requests to swap pools every 30 seconds. She also had her new Crab foliates on which she loved and did a good job of helping keep her buoyant. We also went to the Sthil shop this morning to pick up my chainsaw. That was exciting because bandit was there. And of course bandit jumped up. But that's all part of the fun.
I think that's enough for an update, the battery on my laptop is about to die and we might go to the supermarket to get some food for the midgets.
