Past Two Weeks

Submitted by TiM on

Another two weeks fly by and another lack of updates by me. I think I've even given up telling myself that I'll get around to it soon, just have to try and get around to updating when I can.
So.. hmmm..... what's been happening? Last weekend I got up on the roof and cleaned out the gutters, that was exciting. We planted some new plants in the front garden, the bit of the garden that's looking nice, not the terrible bit. Beth helped and also stood on a few plants. Nothing major! Theo crawled around, I got out the mulcher we bought off TradeMe nearly a year ago and mulched some sticks. It's the first time it'd been used... Good to know that it wasn't a dud purchase.
We went and had icecream at the beach on Sunday afternoon, it was a lovely sunny day but it was quite cold at the beach because of the wind. Still everyone got an icecream, it was Theo's first and he wasn't quite sure of it to start with, but he soon realised that he pretty much loved it, even though it was very cold on his tounge. Beth and I ran around in the sand for a while, Theo crawled around in the sand. We had a great time, it was really nice. What else? Went to the Stihl shop to spend my voucher but haven't yet - think I'll get a leaf blower.
The week went by pretty quickly, Theo was quite crook on Monday morning, so I took him up to the Dr's. He had a temp and was generally miserable, they gave him some antibiotics and told us to keep an eye on him. He seemed alright and by the end of the week he was back to his normal self, though he still does have a runny nose and a bit of a cough. But he's chopping up his foot like a chopper though, so no worries there. Beth also seemed like she was going to come down with something and has had a really bad cough the last few days, but she's otherwise unaffected.
Last weekend Sarah installed what's now known as "The Darling Hut" in Beth's room. Or it might have been three weekends ago. Anyway it's a little reading hut for Beth so she can read her books and keep all her animals/toys or as they're known "Darlings" in there. The Darling Hut has some little fairy lights too attached to timer and Beth has been informed that she's not allowed to come out of her room in the morning until the Darling Lights come on. It's working quite well, though I must reset the timer so I have a few more minutes in the morning before they go on. At the moment she's still usually standing at the stairs crying/waiting for me to come down.
Weekend just gone we didn't do heaps, Sarah has hurt her ankle quite badly again which is really crappy. She's waiting to get back X-Ray results, hopefully it's nothing too major but seeing as it's the same ankle that had the major surgery a little while ago, it might not be great news. Pretty stink! Here's hoping it's OK for her. So Saturday I did some more gardening around the place here and there while kiddies slept after their swimming lessons. Beth was so good at swimming, once she had her goggles on her was a champion at putting her head under the water. Theo loves it so much too, he gets SO excited when he realises he's about to get into the pool. Then he cries like a machine when he had to get out. Bath's are the same, he's happy happy happy time to get out screaming with sadness. But then we boop the lights in the hallway and that cheers him up again.
Oh yea Sunday we went to the Farmers Market which was nice, we were there at 8:30am which is pretty much when it opens! Had a toasted sammy, bought a few veggies etc.
And then we're here to today. I just got back from a 5km run/walk thing. Gotta keep getting my fitbit points!
