Hungover and Grumpy
Went to Mike's (workmate) 21st lastnight. A great time, with some of the best "I'm totally drunk but can still manage a funny speech" speeches I've ever seen. Or heard. Or something like that anyway. Like the title says, I'm hungover and grumpy.
So I'm in at work because I have to come in tomorrow morning at 6am and play swap cards in and out of routers. Always a totaly riot as I'm sure you can imagine, esp at 6am in the morning.
They need StarBucks in Hobart. Sure, it's just a big evil company like McDonalds, but unlike McDonalds what they sell (coffee) is actually very very tasty. You can get 1/2 litre of tasty coffee for $5. Probably a bit expensive, but remember that's NZ dollars which doesn't really count. Or something. Again, I'm hungover and I'll rant all I want. Even if it doesn't really make sense or anything.
Mike's party was really good. Lots of people, music and beer. What more could you want for a 21st? He even managed to drink a whole yard glass, which impressed us all mightily. Sure, it didn't stay down for more than about 30 seconds, but he managed to do it which was a feat and a half in itself.
I'm so glad to have my minidisc player back. Did I mention that already? Who knows. I can finally listen to music again. I'm still hanging out for all my other stuff to arrive. I'll have to call the shipping company this week and see if they're planning on getting my stuff here this year. Seeing as they couldn't manage it last year the bastards. Hungover and grumpy.
What else can I rant about? The fact that there are no really good curry places in Auckland? At least ones that do take away anyway. I've found a few places, and they all do a really lusho butter chicken. But do you think you can get a nice hot Vindaloo. Ain't going to happen my friends. Sure, they do Vindaoos, but I think eating one of my socks would have more kick to it. Erk. What a horrible thought. Sorry about that. And all the Sushi joints over here. It's insane!! In Hobart there is Muirs, which is the only sushi joint in all of Hobart. Here there are more sushi joints than there are take away stores. Still, I'm not going near the stuff. It is raw fish, afterall.
You have to check this out. The exploding whale site. It's very very funny, and the scary thing is that it's true. Check out Dave Barrys article about it. Also, if you've got time make sure you download the Movie. It's 11megs, which is pretty damn big and will take about 1/2 hour to download, but trust me. It's worth it. Download the movie here.
Ok, enough ranting for today. Time to go and get myself some more coffee from StarBucks. They have a shop right across the road from where I work which is very handy.
