ETA to Camp - 18 Hours!
Beth bought home this lovely piece of artwork the other day. Took me a while but I figured out each item. Replaced the EEEPC which finally blew up about ~12 years. It was so poked, I tried to fix it with a bit of strength and it smashed into a lot of bits. Anyway I managed to replace it with a spare Raspberru Pi Zero W I had lying around - the code uses the Videocore chip of the Pi and it means the CPU it uses is only ~30%. Amazing. Like Sam said when I sent him a message about it, shows progress in hardware over the last 12 years and he's right. The EEEPC was a little Atom PC.
Camp tomorrow! I'm all packed, mostly. Beth's all packed, mostly. I finished heaps of work last week to try and make sure I'm not going to leave anything hanging for the three days I'm away. The car's full of petrol, I think we're good to go! Gotta take an Esky as well.
Theo helped me clarify my beer yesterday, have 2 x 10L kegs out there. Might need it once I get back from camp.
Beth had Daisy stay over again last night, they were really good last night and were asleep by about 10pm. Theo wanted me to have a sleepover with him, so I did once I'd gotten back from taken Biscuit for a walk. Theo was already sleep by that stage but I still hopped onto the spare bed next to him anyway. In the middle of the night he wokeup, saw me and mumbled a bunch of stuff that didn't make any sense. I think he was just sleep talking or mumbling.
Beth loves her slime kit. Everytime she doesn't have something to do she gets out the slime again and starts playing with it. Such a great present idea by Sarah, we knew she liked playing with slime but I think we're both amazed at what a hit it was. It's so hard to figure out what she will/won't like, she's never played with that Magic Mixxie we got her for Christmas for more than about 5 minutes and that was one of her main Christmas presents. Oh well.
Went out to test/clean the pool today and it's back down to ~20c. So that means it drops about 1c per day when it's covered and the heatpump isn't on. Too expensive to run it all the time though, we'll go broke!
Otherwise I don't think there's much else to report from the week that was. Oh I did a cutover for NCC on Friday night and it went half good nad half bad because there was an Interface missing and I didn't know how to create the Interface in the SDWAN interface. Suffice to say I do now, after getting both Grant and Greg involved! Oh dear. Anyway NCC were happy at the end of it. Before that, Sarah had ordered KFC to be delivered. We ordered $50 worth of stuff, what arrived was the stuff we'd ordered, pretty much doubled though (20 bits of chicken instead of 10), 3 extra burgers, extra chips and extra potato and gravy. It was awesome, we've been eating KFC all weekend. Probably not good for my wasitline.
Have been playing a few games of Chess with the kids too, Theo really loves it and really thinks hard about it and all the moves. Beth's good with the moves and what piece can go where, but isn't that great yet at thinking of a good move/strategy. Still it's good fun to play with them.
Found a different Drupal 10 theme for Tim's Diary. Barrio_Bootstrap. It's pretty simple but I think it looks Ok. I managed to get rotating banners working again too, so it looks like my diary once again. Hope it's readable.
Ok that's enough, next entry will be when I'm back from camp, wish me luck!
