Waitangi Day
It's Monday but it's a holiday here today. We've just finished having our breakfast and we're about to go down and collect George as part of Cuddles 'n' Care. He's a lovely big white fluffy dog, I think I mentioned him last time. Anyway it's not raining today, which is a nice change, though it did rain over night. Yesterday was, thank fek, finally a proper Summer's Day. It was hot, we all got in the pool. The pool was a nice 28c which is perfect for just jumping in and enjoying it. I fact I better get out there in a mintue and take the pool cover off again.
Theo's playing Mario Kart, something which he utterly utterly loves. He's figured out how to play it online (now we've paid for the stupid subscription to be able to play online, I hate the new modern age) and enjoys doing that. He studies secret paths and ways to go on Youtube, so he's pretty into it.
Dad finally seems to be on the mend, he went to see his Surgeon during the week and sounds like he might have some progress to getting and feeling better. Fingers crossed!
Got Matt the man with a rideon to come and mow the back section this week. He does the whole back section, some of Gordon Street and behind the pool. It's quite a large area, which is reflected in the $120 fee he's charging. Still I just don't have the time nor the inclination to get out there and mow that myself, the problem with it it too is if it gets a bit overgrown it's impossible to hand mow.
Speaking of mowing I had to go get and get a new head for the WhipperSnipper. The old one had given up threading line at all, and the final straw was when it hit something a few weeks ago and one of they eyelets flew away. I spent 30 minutes looking all over the back section for it to no avail. So I just bought a new head which is very neat, you just knock it on the ground and it threads line out. So much easier.
Went to Peter and Mary's on Saturday night for a lovely Curry Dinner. Saturday itself Beth went into town with Holly and Isla and got her nails done, Theo and I rode up to Subway to get some food, with a stop at the pump track for a while. He really likes the pump track, my bike doesn't really go on it very well though. The pedals keep bashing the ground.
Kermit is a huge part of Beth's life at the moment. He's called KermOt though he's really Kermit. No matter what she's doing Kermit is dragged everywhere. It's like a BigBae type of crutch. Speaking of BigBae he's not a huge part of Theo's life anymore. He still gets dragged out in the morning, but often he'll go to bed without him and not notice. Gone of the days of him needing to be placed "Nice and Flat" on the bed.
It was the first week back of School for the kids. Beth's Chromebook was a bit of a source of frustration, the account we'd created wasn't right or something. Anyway in the end the right account got added to the computer and she's away. She spent such a long time dectorating it with stickers etc, it looks great. Beth's in Room 10 this year with Mrs Cornforth, Theo's in Room 7 with Ms Dale.
Anyway, we're off to go down and collect George now so that'll do for the moment!
