Power Chuck

Submitted by TiM on

Theo's been saying about a sore tummy the last few days.  It's so hard to tell with him because he loves to cry wolf, especially if Beth's been sick (which she has) and he sees she's getting "special" treatment.  Anyway last night he said the same thing, my tummy hurts.  We talked to him about being serious when he's unwell and not.  He insisted that he was, but not with much conviction so we both sort of wordlessly agreed he wasn't being honest.  Fast forward 10 minutes later and when he said "Actually I don't want to play a game before bed, I don't feel great" then I knew he wasn't right.  He got out of bed to go to the toilet while I waited to read him a book, on the way to the toilet I heard a really loud burp.  He came back and then said "I think I'm going to spew!" followed by a loud burp! I just managed to clamp my hand over his mouth and get him into the hallway before the floodgates opened.  At least the hallway is wooden floor.

So that was fun to mop up while Sarah showered the little fella.

Saturday night Sarah went into town with Di and some of her friends, they were all down for the HB Marathon.  I looked after the kids as well as Joseph and Isla, Holly and Age went out for their 10th wedding anniversary.  They're all so well behaved really, I put a movie on and they watched that and were no fuss at all.

Today was WFH home because of Theo's power chuck last night, and Beth woke up this morning sneezing and sounding like she'd smoked two packs of cigarettes yesterday (She didn't).  Hopefully they're both well enough tomorrow, it's getting a bit tired and old not having them at school.  At least Theo went on Friday, Beth didn't.

Sparky came today, 5 hours later than he was supposed to.  Some big job he was at some major meltdown.  Anyway we ran the cable we needed to run in the ditch left by Espaso, so we can at least get power out to the Pergola now.  It was going to be via the shed blah blah I think I explained all that last night.

NZNOG this week - means another 3 days away from the family though.  I do like NZNOG it's great to meet up with other network people, it's just annoying that it's so far away (Wellington) so I can't come home at night.

That's enough, dinner's nearly finished cooking.
