Beth's Joke
Playing games the other night with Beth at bedtime. The latest game she likes to play is where Charlie (the dog) is a newsreader and he's reporting the events of the day. Charlie was reporting that a Giant Asteroid was coming down and going to land on the very street where I lived! Oh no. But Charlie was also reporting that it was also possible to stop the damage if we went outside and covered our lawn in toothpaste! And, Charlie was very clear, it had to be Colgate Toothpaste. I thought this was pretty funny but it was a few seconds later when Charlie said "And by the way the news tonight is Sponsored by Colgate Toothpaste" that I totally lost it and couldn't stop laughing. Such a good setup that I didn't even see coming. I think that's the first joke Beth's come up with that wasn't just a "What do you call a X" type joke. It was very funny. She was pretty chuffed with herself when she saw I nearly died laughing too.
Poor little sausage has surgery tomorrow. When Sarah told her she took it really well and has been pretty happy the last few days. I'm sure she'll be a little more nervous tomorrow, but she's putting on a very brave face. Thankfully the visit to the anesthetist went well, he was on time and very friendly and Beth made it to her cheerleading filming with plenty of time to spare.
Super wet and miserable day today, one of my workmates was kind enough to give me a lift into work.
