Pool Arrives, Beth's Birthday MKII, Hawke's Bay Hundy, Crazy Hair Day
Theo lost another tooth on Sunday. He bit into an Apple on Saturday evening and it came loose and started bleeding, he spent all Saturday night with his finger in his mouth wiggling it and then complaining again when it'd bleed. After wiggling it and pestering it even more on Sunday it finally came loose and popped out. The tooth fairy was on time this time and gave him $2.50 for his tooth, he was very interested in discussing the various reasons the tooth fairy must have given him 2 coins instead of one. Was it because the tooth was extra clean? Was it because of al the grief and bleeding this tooth has caused him? Something else? I guess we'll never know. Oh yes this is a good time to point out that Beth tends to read over my shoulder all the time when I'm typing on my laptop.
Our pool has arrived. And by arrived I mean is sitting on the back section on tires. We just need to get consent now from 3 Iwi Tribes before we can then apply for council permit. One tribe is already happy, another tribe just wants to be onsite when we start digging but the 3rd tribe is proving to be a nightmare. They have a consultant that all things must go through and she seems to be a piece of work. Won't return phonecalls, asks to be emailed then doesn't reply to those. Even when I spoke to the head of the 2nd Iwi Tribe, he said "Oh, she's going to hold you up" which wasn't great to hear. Anyway, just have to keep on her case and hope we can get some resolution around it.
Last weekend my work did the Hawke's Bay 100 for Mental Health run. It wasn't the proper event, that was cancelled because of Covid but given that we'd raised money we decided to do it anyway. So I biked out to Puketapu and I ran 2 5km legs. I timed it perfectly so that my last leg was the final one, so I just had to jog into the pub and have a beer and some food. Was good fun, though the 5km seemed easy the second 5km was really hard. The hot sun, no shade, ugh it was tough! But we did it and didn't stop, so that was the main thing.
It was Beth's Birthday sleepover Saturday just gone. Sarah had organised a lady to come over and put up little tents for the girls to sleep in and they were really cute. At 4:30pm the 4 girls started arriving and there was lots of giggling and squealing and all that sort of stuff, which didn't really end until they finally all got to sleep about 10:30pm. They had a really good time though, watched a movie, did some dancing out on the front lawn, made lots of noise. Beth got a Llama that "Shakes it Booti" which is pretty funny.
Sunday we got woken up by the 8yo squeeling girl festival at 5:30am. Not cool! After crabbing at them a bit to go back to sleep I got up at 6am and make us all a big batch of pancakes. By about 10am everyone's parent had come and collected them and the lady turned up to deconstruct the Llama/Flamingo tents. I took Theo into Timezone to play the games for 30 minutes, he'd been feeling a tad left out with all the attention the girls were getting (Though to be fair to him he did a great job of just injecting himself into their games). We had a good time at Timezone, went and bought some new Jadels (Thongs!) for him and Beth, then went and got a slice or two at Vinci's.
It's school holidays at the moment, their second to last day was Crazy Hair Day as well at Cross Country Day as well at the last day of the Princple Mr Mercer being at the schol. Theo's hair Sarah did a mohawk on and it worked really well, and she made Beth's hair in a lattice pattern. Looked awesome.
I had my second Covid jab last Wednesday and boy oh boy, was I stuffed on Thursday. I started having mental as dreams on Wednesday night so I took some panadol but yea, I was stuffed on the Thursday. Took the day off crook. Was back to 90% on Friday. Annoying, but hey at least I'm protected against the badness now. NZ still has it raging around, Auckland's got it and it's spread to Hamilton and sounds like we're not really getting on top of it as we'd hoped. A shame, but hey, it was always going to happen.
I think that's about enough for the moment! The kids will be up soon, though they are sleeping in a bit later at the moment because of school holidays (that is, I let them sleep in instead of harassing them to get up at 6:45am every morning) and they're going to bed a bit later too.
