Happy 6th Birthday Theodore
It's Theo's 6th Birthday today. Amazing that he's grown up so quickly. He's still such a happy little boy. I spent most of the day with him yesterday (it's the first week of the school holdiays) and we hung out and built a Minecraft Lego he got from The Mooneys. Then we went up to the library and he got out some books, he was excited because I got him (and Beth) his own library card. We went to the cafe and had a snack and a chat about all the things he loves to chat about, which is mostly Minecraft, or maths. Still loves maths, loves thinking about any number discussion in different ways. It was a fun day anyway, though very very cold so we couldn't go for a bike ride or do much fun outside.
Same today for his Birthday. As soon as his Star Clock went off at 6:45am I heard his bedroom door open. Out he came, happy as larry, sat down on my lap with Big Bae which is a ritual he still loves. He's a lot more vocal that he used to be in his younger days, when he was little he more enjoyed just coming out and sitting with my and slurping label. These days it's talking a million miles an hour about whatever thing is currently on his radar of excitement. Of course today that was the fact it's his Birthday. So we had a quick cudde and a chat, then he got his breakfast and ate that pretty quickly. Then it was time for his presents. This year he got
- Some lovely new clothes and a cool Spiral drawing machine from Granny
- A maths book, a minecraft cube, some new shoes and a lego storage contrainer from Mummy and Daddy
- Some books from Pa
- And the big present, a Crazy Cart! (The smaller model for little kids)
So he's had a pretty good birthday. Sadly it's been raining all day mostly so his crazy carting's had to been in the carport, but by the sounds of it he's still loving it. He was super sad when we threw his old motorbike onto the skip, it was beyond knackered though. Plus it was a cheap - this new cart is a proper quality one, sold in NZ. Hopefully it'll hold up a lot better than his motorbike did.
He also had his 6th Birthday party on Saturday. He only invited 4 friends, 3 of them turned up. We never got an RSVP yes/no back from the 4th one, so not sure what happened there. It was nice that 3 people could turn up though, given that it was the first Saturday of the School Holidays and usually people are going away. It was a Minecraft themed party and Sarah bought cool foam Axes and Minecraft themed balloons, some of which we filled up with Helium. It was a great little party, all the kids seemed to have a great time playing inside and out, pin the tail on the Donkey etc. Joseph and Isla came too and had a blast. The minecraft cake Sarah made was amazing, as always.
Sunday was mostly cleaning up, I went for a little 10km jog with the dog, then we went to dinner at the RSA for Jospeh (and Theo's) Birthday. Had the old smorgasbord thing. I just had 2 plates of meat, chips and Gravy. I looked at the vegetables section though, so I was thinking happy thoughts.
Sarah's Google is still broken. They said it's going to take 4 weeks to purge the account I created that broke everything, then we should be able to rename her account back to how it was. Gosh I hope so, the whole thing is a nightmare and I still keep waking up at night and feeling terrible about it. And I kepe having dreams that I've fixed it then I wake up and it's not fixed. Ugh. Their support is so fucking useless, they basically can't do anything it seems. You can't talk to anyone who really knows what they're doing, it's just a bunch of idiots with scripts and because this problem isn't on any script they have, they just spin around in circles. Anyway, I hope sometime next week we can switch it back and I just hope and pray it goes back to working how it's supposed to. Ugh. I hate it. I hate thinking about it.
Work's good, work's busy but in a fun way. I think I'm doing OK. We had a company event 2 weekends ago at Crab Farm. Which I have never been back to since the pea incident. Anyway, there were no peas and it was a good night. A few speeches, met some nice people, Sarah looked lovely in her super sparkly dress. I think she had a good time too.
Not much else has been happening since the last update - it's the first week of school holidays. Beth's been going to a programme at cheerleading which she seems to love. We've taken the kids to timezone a few times, which they also seem to love. Biscuit's a dog, a smelly one but a good one.
The only downer at the moment is that today is Theo's birthday and Sarah's crook as a dog. Hacking, snotty. Probably this RSV virus that seems to be going around, Theo had to have a few days off before the end of term with it. Beth's also had it, though not quite as bad. Now Sarah's got it and it seems to have hit her really hard. Hopefully I don't come down with it. The kids seem to be getting over it, I haven't heard too much coughing/barking tonight. I hope everyone's feeling better soon.
