No more School Walking
I walked Beth up to school this Monday and half way she said "Daddy is it OK if we don't walk to school anymore?" and I worried asked why. "Because I can't really feel my nose, it's so cold". Oh dear poor little sausage, I'm sorry! So yes, Beth is just going with Sarah in the car now, she's right, it was getting very cold. I had also realised were pretty much the only ones (of at least about Beth's age) who were walking. There was still the odd kid scootering. It was nice walking to school with her, and she wants to do it "When it gets to Summer" which'll be nice because of course, Theodore will be able to walk with us! It'll be great.
Little bit worried about Theo's speech at the moment. It's great, he's got a massive vocab and he's talking constantly, but he's started to develop quite a bit of a stutter of late. I didn't really think much of it until it was mentioned to me recently and then I've been really focused on it. We did some research and repeating of a single word a few times is quite normal at his age, but he's also repeating letters. B-B-B-B-Bethy etc. It will probably be nothing and just a phase, but we asked Kindy to observe as well and see what they though, and they agreed it wouldn't hurt to get him into the system just in case. So we're submitting a form for the speech therapist to see him and give us an opinion etc if we need to be worried. But he's otherwise fine and Sarah spent 20 minutes talking to him today on the Walkie Talkies (Which he loves, of course) and she said he didn't stutter a single word or letter once. It's probably just a mechanism to keep the airtime when he IS talking, because if there's a single bit of dead air his sister jumps in with her piece.
Otherwise, everyone is fine. We went to the Mission a couple of weekends ago for Peter Chat's 70th Birthday, this time the Munns were able to join us from Danniverke. Because of course, horray, we're out of lockdown as of Monday! That's right we can walk and talk and sing and dance and social distancing doesn't apply anymore. Life is back to normal. Anyway it wasn't for Peter's Birthday, but we still had a great lunch with everyone. It was a bit of a wet and miserable day outside, but lunch was nice and it was good to see the Danniverke Crew again. After lunch we headed down to Peter and Mary's for a bit.
Right well I wrote the above on Friday, then never got around to publishing it. Since we've just had a nice holiday away, I'm going to finish writing in the next story that I'm about to start RIGHT NOW.
