Week Report

Submitted by TiM on

Well Theo's Chickenpox didn't turn out to be too bad.  Yes, he had Chickenpox but it really didn't affect him, mostly some small spots.  He was worried the blisters were going to be like when he forgot to put socks on and run around in his gumboots all day, he had very sore blisters that popped.  Once Sarah had explained it wasn't going to be those kind of blisters, he calmed down.

What else happened last week... Not a real lot that I can think of.  Theo's sunflowers are out in the garden, one of them has died for reasons I don't understand, but the other seems to be doing OK.  The strawberries we planted last weekend are growing nicely too.

It was the last week of school for Beth last week, so two weeks of school holidays.  Today she's at her friend Emma's house, tomorrow Emma's coming to ours.  Sarah's got a few other things planned for her too, so we'll be able to keep her busy during her time off.

Went to a Predator meeting on Wednesday night.  Apparently rats are a huge problem AND they eat birds and all sorts.  So there's a group of people trying to get traps set everywhere to help eradicate them.  So I went to a meeting about that at once of the neighbours houses, was pretty interesting if a tad long winded.  After an hour and 15 I excused myself because neither I nor Sarah had had dinner and we were both going to be starving, she was at home wondering where I was.

This weekend on Saturday Theo and I did some more weeding and gardening out the back, then I went to get some linetrimmer line.  Then we all went to th e Boardwalk for lunch, followed by a play on the playground for a while.  I don't know what it is about Beth and Theo but they seem unable to detach from us to have fun at the playground.  All the other kids are just running around having fun.  Beth has to keep calling me over to get her our of this jam or that problem, or to tell me things etc etc.  Every other parent is just sitting there relaxing, I'm having to get up every 45 seconds.  Maybe it's just their age.  We'll see I guess.  Anyway they had a good time apart from Beth getting a splinter which caused much upsetness.

Once home Sarah got our the splinter while Theo and I went up to get Sarah's bike, it can't really be fixed because it had a crack in the seat holder thingy, they said they could do lots of work on it then she'd be riding along and it'd go snap in a week/month/year.  So time to get a new, new bike.

I've taught Biscuit to do "roll over" which he's pretty good at now.  He doesn't do it well enough on command if treats aren't available, so have to keep working on it, but he's got it down pat otherwise.

That's enough - I will try and update more often diary.  I know I say that and I never do, but I'll try.
