Disney on Ice
Granny and Bilby took Beth and Theo up to Hamilton on Saturday morning to go to Disney on Ice. The performance was actually on Sunday, but Sarah booked them to stay up there overnight so that they didn't have to try to drive from 7am on Sunday and arrive already tired etc. That was the plan anyway.
Sounds like they had a great time anyway, they arrived home last night, Theo with a Blaster Gun and Beth with a toy stuffed doggy. They haven't told us too much about what they actually saw, but by all accounts they had a great time. Mum said the kids were great the whole time, the biggest "drama" was Theo getting up at 4am in the morning on Sunday needing to do a poo, then loudly telling everyone "Wow this is a big poo, the biggest" etc. Good work buddy.
Sarah and I had a nice weekend, Saturday we went out for lunch to Market St, the new bar that's opened up in town. Had a platter, it was pretty good. Then for dinner we went out to Fun Buns, then to the movies to see "Palm Beach" which was pretty average really. The cinematography, the amazing scenery etc was brilliant, but the storyline was pretty pisspoor. One of those thing were characters just forgive each other then yell then forgive each other etc, it was pretty stupid. There was only ~6 of us in the movie theatre and one guy left two thirds of the way through. He didn't miss much.
Sunday morning we went out for breakfast to FG Smith, tasty as always. Then a bit of shopping in town, I dropped Sarah off out at Holly's and went out to Brave to fill up my flagons.
Then of course the children arrived home from their adventure with Granny and Bilby.
What else... I finally had to buy a new SSD drive for the QOTOM box. The old one was spitting out more and more errors and would have given up one day right in the middle of Sarah's video conference or similar. I faffed around getting the firmware on the new SSD up to date, then another hour getting Proxmox installed on the new SSD. Then copied all the old VM's over and boom, off she went like the clappers. I was quite happy how simple the whole thing was, everything seems to be working fine too. Just trying to do as much as I can to reduce the number of writes to the SSD to maximise its life.
The new car is great. Had a detachable towball, heated seats, cruise control (I've always loved Cruise control) and our phones connect to its Bluetooth for easily answering phonecalls etc from the steering wheel. So that's nice. Goes well, there's proper ISO Fix for the kids carseats (safer) and yea, it's got about 140,000 less kilometers on it.
Oh I didn't even mention when I got back from Wellington the other day, Biscuit had "made a mess" in Beth's room. Disgusting. I cleaned it up though and put him in the kitchen overnight. I got up at 4am to go to the toilet and as soon as I opened the door to our room the smell hit me. Went downstairs. My god the kitchen. I hope to never see such a thing again. It was a NIGHTMARE. Took an hour and a half to clean up. Poor biscuit. Poor walls. I went through about 15-20L of boiling water cleaning up. IT WAS TERRIBLE. Hope that doesn't happen again.
Ok now I can't think of much more to tell you, so it's time to shut up diary. Oh, yes, Beth put up her first sign on her door on Friday night. It says "Please say your name before coming in"
